- Attempt to join counseling and support groups with people going through the same

- Keep a healthy lifestyle to keep a healthy sleep-wake style

- Follow a regular sleep schedule, schedule your sleep periods.

- Take brief scheduled naps. they should be 10-15 minutes long.

- Avoid caffeine, alcohol and nicotine

- Avoid over the counter drugs that cause drowsiness.

- Exercise on a regular basis (this sounds repetitive but trust me some good exercise is good for anything)

- Avoid activities that would be dangerous if you have a sudden sleep attack.

- Relax and manage emotions, narcolepsy symptoms can be triggered by intense emotions so you may benefit from practicing relaxation techniques such as breathing exercises, yoga, or massages.
