"you know what?" tyler asked, your hand in his as you both lay on your backs in the grass in the park under the stars. "what?" you replied, turning your head to look at him.

"i think you would beat the moon in a pretty contest." he said, and butter yellow came in a flood. tyler was making you blush. "t-thank you." you stuttered, and he pressed a kiss to your cheek, his starry night lips making you shiver with delight.

"have you ever read the great gatsby?" you asked him, rolling over to lay your head on his chest, suddenly desperate to hear his royal blue heartbeat.

"yes, why?" he asked, his cello note hands rubbing circles on your spine.

"you remember what daisy is called?" you asked, and tyler nuzzled his nose into your hair, saying nothing. "tyler joseph, you're my golden boy. but unlike gatsby, i'm not gonna let you go." you said, and tyler hummed in response, wrapping his arms tighter around you.

"i love you." he said.

you felt stardust in your soul, and butter yellow in your bones.
