tyler held your hand as the two of you walked down the street, heading to meet josh at a coffee shop. he was humming under his breath, and stole glances at you now and then from underneath hooded eyelids.

"whatcha humming, ty?" you asked, and he grinned. "didn't you recognize it? your song?" he asked, and you facepalmed. "oh man, i'm so stupid." you said, and tyler stopped in his tracks.

"don't you ever say that again, hear me? you are the most beautiful girl in the universe, and you're smart and funny and talented." he said, his brown blanket eyes practically sparking and crackling.

he pulled you into a hug and kissed your forehead, his blue heartbeat thundering through your left ear. "i will make you queen of everything you see." he whispered into your hair, and you blushed heavily.

"oh tyler...only if you be the king." you said, and he smiled widely.
