Belle’s POV

The winter was almost coming to an end, everything had been calmer than ever, which was perfect. Too good to be true, I think. However, I was starting to get the urge to leave the place as well as Robert. But, no one else seemed to want now. They said it was the perfect place, with very few dangers and that we could actually live a relatively good life there.

Well, me and Robert disagreed.

I was starting to feel like a nomad life was the best option.

Now I’m free, I want to see the world. Why not?

And with Robert? How amazing that would be?

Besides, keep moving would decrease the chances of getting attacked. The wars were still there, there were still slave and soldier hunters everywhere.

I could understand Deon didn’t want to leave, he had his sister and brother in law, however, Mary and Tom?

Oh, they had become a couple, I almost forgot to tell!

Mary finally gave a chance to poor Tom, who was going insane without her, without a chance to prove himself to her. I smiled at the thought, they were so cute together, it was indescribable. However, I could sense how both of them already had some fights concerning Robert. Tom and Robert hadn’t still work things out. Only talking when it was extremely necessary, everything was awkward when we were all together. But Mary wouldn’t stop socializing with him because of Tom, obviously. And he didn’t seem to like it. I honestly think he is also a little bit jealous, though.

As to Robert, well, he was the same Robert as always. Anything between us had changed. We were the same. Not a couple, only the parents of our child. I’m not complaining, as I say, that’s the closest of him I can ever get.

However, I am not that same person completely. Not physically though. The belly I carry is considerably big now. According to my math, which can’t be that wrong, I am on my sixth month. Robert has been an amazing support and help. I couldn’t ask for anything else.

As I was walking out Zahra’s wooden hut, talking to her and Mary about leaving (once again) both of us heard yells.

“What is happening?!”

We followed the sounds and found Deon holding Tom and Omar doing the same to Robert. Oh no, they’re fighting again.

“I am not going to kill a horse!” Robert yelled

“We need more meat!”

“There are lots of other animals! Horses are needed! Strong and alive!” Robert retorted

Oh god. It’s been almost unbearable during the last days. They always find something to fight about, even if it’s useless.

I walked over to Robert “Come on, let go” I whispered to him, holding his hand.

He hesitated, I could feel his anger, his nerves “Come” I smiled

He walked away with me “I’m seriously beginning to lose it” He said

“Shh, it’s ok”

“Let’s just go… both of us. If no one else wants to, let’s go just the two of us”

I looked at him, my eyes widened “Are you serious?”

“Yes”

“Would you leave them behind?” I asked

He hesitated answering. I half smiled at him. Him and Tom were best of friends. They’d been like this for months, that’s a fact, but I know Robert way too well, already.
