I sobbed, trying to push away the man in the white coat.

"Gerard, I just need to listen to your heart," he said.

"No!" I cried.

"If you're good then you can have a lollipop," he said.

I stopped trying to fight him and let him listen to my heart through the funny ear thing.

"Wanna listen?" He asked.

The doctor put the ear things in my own ears and pressed the metal part to my chest. I giggled, listening to my heartbeat.

"Pretty cool, huh?" He asked and I nodded. "Just listen to this and I'll go talk to Donald."

"Is he my dad?" I asked.

"Yes, he is," he said.

The doctor went to the side of the room where my dad and another boy with blond hair was sitting.

"So, he's perfectly healthy for the most part," the doctor said. "However, he's low on some of his vitamins, but it's nothing too bad. The biggest probably is that he hasn't had his vaccinations."

"I do want him vaccinated," my dad said.

I held the metal part to my chest as I smiled.

"We could try to do it all right now but it'd probably be better to get a few done now and then schedule another appointment for later," the doctor said.

"We have a court date tomorrow, will he be okay for it?" My dad asked.

"He might have a headache or a stuffy nose but it shouldn't be too bad," he said.

My dad sighed and walked over, handing me Dee and taking away the ear thingy.

"I'm sorry," he said quietly.

"For what's?" I asked.

The doctor came over with something in his hand.

"What's that?" I asked.

"This is called a syringe, Gerard," he said.

A cocked my head, looking at it in interest. He came closer and I shrieked when the pointy end went into my arm. My dad held me in place as I sobbed. The doctor finally pulled away but then he came back with another.

"No! No! Hurts!" I cried.

I gasped as I woke up sobbing. My Mama wrapped her arms around me and I cried into her shoulder.

"I don't want them to take me away again," I whimpered. "They hurt me last time."

"So you're gonna stay here forever, right?" She asked.

"Yes, Mama," I said.

"Gee, baby, you've been here for almost a week now, your dad is probably flipping out," Frank said. "We can go home together. I'll take you to the train station and we can go back home."

"I'm gonna stay here forever and ever," I said.

My mom smiled, holding me tight. I cuddled with her until it was morning and I yawned.

"Can I watch cartoons?" I asked as she made breakfast

"Cartoons will rot your brain," she said.

"B-but dad always lets me watch cartoons in the morning," I said.

"Cartoons are bad, Gee," she stated.
