Dick's Pov

"I don't know, Dick. I'm telling you now there are no matches," Zatanna looked exasperated from the screen in front of me. I stood with Artemis and Kaldur in the main hall as Z briefed me on what she was working on. "Whatever is happening to them is something unlike I've ever seen before."

Zatanna has been a life saver by working with Jaime and Babs on this League project. But losing sleep and hope at the same time was incredibly discouraging. Finding out that the 10 were taking on experimental activity was just the cherry on top. Artemis sighed to my right and rubbed her face. It was safe to say we were all pretty exhausted.

"I managed to secure Kristen's blood samples from Star Labs," Zatanna gave me a knowing look given the expecting expression that I gave her. "It might not show anything but maybe I can broaden my file."

I gave her a small smile. Kaldur just reached for the screen and opened the menu next to it. "Thank you for your help, Zatanna. We will stay in contact with you at your location."

"Of course, Kaldur," She nodded in response. "And please don't tell the Team. I need more dirt on this file."

The three of us exchanged a look. More secrets? We couldn't risk it, but we had to. Z needed more time. "Copy that, Z. Talk to you soon."

The hall was silent. The three of us just stood there, thinking. It's been almost a full two weeks since the 10 were shipped off world. None of us were holding up. And recently everything felt like that. Silent. Everything was muffled, like the quiet before a storm. This time though, we knew the storm was coming, just not when.

A beep filled the room as all of our watched went off at the same. I snorted, "That's the third mission call we've had in the past 36 hours."

Artemis nudged me. "Let's just go."

Dinah was waiting for us in the Mission Room. We had filed in quickly and it was no wonder because the Team had returned to the Hall a mere four hours ago. There was no prep time, we were ready to go.

Behind Dinah was a clip from a webcam capturing pure chaos. New Orleans, huh, that's a new one. "The Tower just pinged a boom tube signal and we're tracking the components coming out of it right now."

The images were blurry as they replayed on a loop. It was just a scratchy video of a boom tube opening up in the middle of a downtown crowd. You couldn't see who was coming out of the tube but it was a lot of someones.

"We need you guys to clear this out," Dinah continued. "Other League members are helping clean up Star Labs and are out zoo keeping."

Cassie, a couple people over to my left, snickered at the joke. We were not zoo keepers, but after being made fools on that mission, joking helped to keep spirits a little lighter.

"Wonder Girl, Nightwing, Miss M, and Robin, you're Alpha," Dinah clicked a button and the video feed moved to the side as a map zoomed in on the city of New Orleans. "We have the last known location of the boom tube and that's where you'll be headed. Check it out and shut it down."

"KF, Lagoon Boy, Astra, Beast Boy, Aqualad, and Blue Beetle, you're Beta," Dinah clicked again and a perimeter surrounded the area around the boom tube's last know location. "Clear this perimeter before moving outwards. A lot of somethings came out of that tube and we need to make sure they're handled."

"Dismissed. Good luck." Alright Team, New Orleans it was.

There was a giant storm cloud hovering over the city of New Orleans. No rain, just lightning. And the storm clouds were low in the sky. Something so stupid was about to happen, I just know it.
