"I'm telling you I'm fine, now can I go see him?"
The nurse sighed again at my words, "Ma'am the doctor will be with you in a minute, he can clear you then."
I groaned as I sat back down on the bed. The nurse left the room and left. I sat there just fiddling with my fingers when I heard a knock at the door. I looked up to see a doctor come in. He smiled at me as he shut the door behind him, "Hello, Miss Toretto."
I offered a small smile as he continued, "I'm glad to say I bring good news."
I cocked an eyebrow, "So what'd that be?"
"Well your injuries are minor, so I'll put you on antibiotics so you don't get any infections. And I must say, congratulations."
My face scrunched up in confusion, "What do you mean?"
"You're pregnant Miss Toretto."
"I'm what?"
My heart thumped against I moved my hand to rest on my stomach. The doctor continued to talk as I continued to think. I was pregnant.
I was going to have a baby, I was going to be a mother. God I loved kids, but was I ready to have one of my own? I was only twenty eight, not married, and I wasn't entirely sure where Brian and I stood. Brian.
I looked up as the doctor said my name. I cleared my throat, "Sorry, what'd you say?"
He smiled sympathetically, "You're free to go Miss Toretto."
I nodded as I pushed myself off of the bed. I took a deep breath as I walked out of the room, I can think about this later. First, I need to find Brian.
I walked up to the reception desk and cleared my throat. A receptionist looked up at me, "Can I help you?"
I smiled softly, "Yes, I'm looking for Agent Brian O'Conner's room. I'm his fiance."
She nodded and smiled as she looked up at me, "Follow me, I'll take you there."
I followed after her as she snuck me past the agents sitting in the lobby. I smiled gratefully as she opened up the door for me. I stepped in and thanked her as she said, "I hope he gets better quick sweetie, congrats on the engagement."
She shut the door and I turned around to see Brian grinning at me lopsidedly, "Engaged huh? We're just skipping the dating period?"
