16: Prom night

Lapis's POV
Peridot and I were at her place, laying on her bed. I'm so happy we got back together. I missed her so much.

"So, Peridot. How are you gonna dress up for Prom?" I asked her, while we were cuddling.
"Mhm... depends who's gonna ask me..." she playfully said.
"Oh yea? Do you have an idea who might ask you?" I said playfully too, continuing our little cute game.
She smiled.
"I don't know..."
She kissed me on the lips.
"What if I ask you?"
"Go ahead..."
"Do you wanna go to prom with me?"
"I'll have to think about it." She said, teasing me.
"Peridot!" I smiled as I tackled her.
She laughed and we continued our playful game.
She sat on the bed, as I kissed her neck.
"No hickeys before prom..." she joked.
We laughed. Suddenly, we heard the bedroom's door opening.
"Peridot can I ha- IM SO SORRY IM SO SORRY !" Shane said as he covered his eyes.
"Get out you clod !"
"Are you guys were about to DO STUFFS?" He said, still standing there in the room, covering his eyes.
"Nyhhhhh get. Out!" Peridot got mad.
"I'm so happy my two favorite lesbians are back together!" He happily chanted. I blushed as Peri got up the bed and shove the door in this face.
She sat on the bed and sighed.
"Where were we?"
She leaned on me and we continued kissing like before.

Peridot's POV
After a few minutes of making out, I got up and show Lapis what she wanted to wear for tomorrow night. It was a green long dress with sequins.
"It's green!" Lapis said, looking excited.
"Yes lapis, it is. But the thing is i'm not sure about wearing a dress in front of the whole school. Plus it's very long, i'm not sure i'm confortable in it. Anyways, what are you wearing?"
"I'm not telling you! But i know how i can fix your dress !"
"What?"
"Do you trust me?"
"N...no?"
"Do you TRUST ME?!"
"Y...yea whatever."
"Okay, give me 24 hours."
"L...lapis, the prom IS in 24 hours."
"I know !"
She took my dress and put it in her back pack.
"Lapis wait!!"
She ran downstairs, so I followed her.
"See you TOMORROW!"
She kissed me and closed the door.

No one's POV
Prom night, 7:47M.

Peridot was waiting for Lapis. What did she do with my dress? Peridot thought.
Suddenly, she heard knocking.
She opened the door as fast as she could.
"Hey Peridot!" Lapis said as she kissed her girlfriend's lips.
The blue haired girl handed her a dress bag.
"Thank you... i don't know what you did but-"
"Don't open it when i'm here!" Lapis interrupted her.
"Wait, Lapis you're not dressed? You realized prom starts in a few minutes!?"
"Yea! Thats why i gotta go! See you tonight!"
And she closed the door as fast as she opened it.
Peridot was kinda nervous about the dress thing. But there was no turning backs. She went in a room and opened the bag. A small note fell out of it. She picked it up and start reading it.
"Dear Peridot, I can sew. I hope you'll like it. See you :))"

Peridot's POV
I looked at the dress, it was completely different. It was short, just over my knees and the top was black.
I looked closer and noticed a little alien face on the left side of the top.
'It's... beautiful.' I thought.
I put it on with over knee socks and put on some black sneakers. I brushed my hair and i was ready to go.
I was walking towards the school. When I was in the hallway, I could already hear the music. At the entry I was in the line to give my ticket, when my cellphone ringed.
-Can't wait to see you, Peri. ;b
I laughed as I was answering my girlfriend.
-Me neither :))
And I turned it off.
"Hello, may I have your ticket?" Tori calmly said.
She was wearing a blue dress, it was going under her knee and she had small heels.
I smiled.
"Sure." And i handed Tori my ticket.
She took it as she looked really anxious.
"Are you okay? You should come have fun with Lapis and I, tonight!"
"Hum... yea... I can't."
"Why not?" I insisted.
"If I go there, Jasper and Toni has to take care of the tickets and I don't wanna bother them."
"Aw, come on! We'll show those clods!" I took her hand, put the sign "Wait here" on the desk she was sitting to and dragged her inside.
"Are you sure about this?"
I confidently smiled and nodded.
When we entered, the first thing I could see was people dancing and eating. We stopped, so I could find them with my eyes. Not after a long time searching, I spotted Jasper and Toni chatting with other people. I aggressively took Tori's hand and came toward them.
"Ahem!" I fakely coughs on Jasper.
"Woh Peridot, I didn't see you there... you're so short!"
I looked at her, not amused.
Toni was just staring and Tori who was blushing.
Toni cleared her throat.
"Tori... you look really pretty tonight!"
Everyone stared at Toni who had a big fake smile on her face.
After a second, Tori slapped her twin sister.
"You knew how I was feeling, and you let her did what she did !" Tori looked very mad, almost about to cry.
"I'm.... gonna go!" Jasper said, surprisingly embarrassed.
Tori and I went to sit on a bench. She was hiding her face in her hands.
"Are you alright...?" I asked.
She wiped her tears and smiled at me.
"Yes."
"I'm sorry about everything, Tori..."
"I'm alright, Peri, please don't worry!"
I smiled and we got up the bench, searching for my friends, especially Lapis.
"Peridot !" Steven happily said when he saw me.
"Hey Steven, hey Connie!" I said.
"Hello!" Connie said.
They both silently looked at Tori with small smiles on their faces.
She just waved at them.
"So, have you two seen the others?" I asked them.
"I saw Amethyst and Ruby earlier bu-"
Steven stopped looking behind me.
"But if you're looking for L-lapis, she's just behind you..."
I turned around slowly and saw my girlfriend, in a mid-length skirt with a white blouse. She was wearing high heels.
"Wo-woah..."
She arrived towards me blushing.
"L...Lapis. You're beautiful."
"Thank you, Peridot." She said as she kissed my cheek.
I blushed.
"I love what you did to my dress, thank you."
She smiled.
"I'm so glad you like it."
Suddenly, we were cut by Ms. Quartz, who was on stage announcing something on a microphone.
"So, it's time to let place to our secret guest who is going to sing something!" The principal announced.
"I gotta go pee, i'll be right back!" Lapis said, leaving.
"Seriously? It's the secret number! You've never seen one here since you arrived this year! They always cringy but let's hope this one can be good!" I tried to not let her leave.
"I'll be back in a second." She kissed my cheek and ran.
I sighed and looked at Steven standing next to me.
He just smiled.
"Now let's welcome to sing, one of our new students, Lapis Lazuli!"
I gasped and stared with big eyes, my girlfriend, slowly walking on stage with a microphone. She then put it on the mic stander thingie.
"This is for my girlfriend. I love you Peridot."
Everyone awed and looked back to me who just looked shocked.
A guitar suddenly started to play.

I suddenly started tearing up. It's... our song.
I pushed everyone until i reached the stairs to come on stage and jumped into Lapis' arms to kiss her.
Everyone awed and clapped as i continued kissing her.
I was crying tears of joy.
"Thank you, Lapis."

No one's POV
A moment after the song, Lapis and Peridot were on the dance floor, dancing slow.
Everyone was dancing slowly to the calm music. Steven with Connie, Amethyst with Pearl, Ruby with Sapphire, Jasper with herself.
"Lapis?"
"Mhm?"
"I love you."
"I love you too."
Peridot and Lapis smiled at each other and Lapis leaned her head to kiss her girlfriend.

Who would thought that Lapis, who was completely new to this school and town not even a year ago, would've met someone like Peridot to make her live sad and happy but mostly love adventures?
