It was later that night when I got the text. I was listening to the "Dear Evan Hansen" Soundtrack while playing "Mario Kart" when I read it.

C: Well I hope you're proud of your big decision.

Um... I never usually get these kinds of text messages from Christine. So I thought I'd play it off like a joke.

M: Nice DEH reference. How'd you know I was listening?

C: Oh it is? I don't really listen to musical music much anymore.

M: WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!?!?!?!?! But you're Christine!! YOU LOVE PLAY REHEARSAL!!

C: That's not important. You know what you did.'

M: What do you-

M: Ooooooooooooh...

C: YOU TOOK MY BOYFRIEND!!

I didn't know what to say. What the hell do you even say?

M: I-I did?

C: Don't act dumb with me.

M: Look, Christine. I'm so sorry.

C: Shut up no you're not. You're happy you stole my boyfriend. You will pay for the pain you've caused me.

M: What do you mean?

C: You'll find out, you piece of shit.

M: Christine? Are you alright?

She didn't answer after a while, so I decided to FaceTime Jeremy and ask him about it.

He was smiling wide as he answered the phone. "Hello, beautiful. How are you?"

I sighed, attempting to hide my blush. "Hey, Jer?" I asked, nervously.

He sat up in his bed, hearing the tone in my voice. "Hey, Michael, you alright? You sound upset..." I bit my lip, looking down. I instantly regretted the decision of calling Jeremy. He probably already had a hard time breaking up with Christine.

His smooth voice took me out of my trance, "Hey, baby... You seem out of it." His eyes were cautious and worried.

I frown, refusing to look at him. "Christine texted me..."

He looks away from the camera, exclaiming an "Oh..."

     "Yeah..."

I sent him some screenshots of the conversation we had today. I don't think we have ever had more sighs in a talk than today.

He looked at me and made a half-smile. "Well, I guess we'll see how everything turns out." I continue to look down, unable to hold my sniffles. "Mikey? Are you okay?"

I look back into the camera, muttering, "I'm fine." A warm, wet feeling runs down my cheek as I smile wide—attempting to make it seem like everything was alright.

     It wasn't.

Every worst possibility was racing through my mid like a drag race. What if no one accepted us? What if I got hurt?

But the worst possibility popped out more than the rest: What if Jeremy was hurt? For loving me, for breaking up with Christine...

"Michael! Michael, you are not alright. I'm coming over. I'll be there in less than five." He quickly hung up, leaving me to break down in my basement.

                                                                                        ~^*^~

It didn't take even five minutes to hear footsteps down moving down to my direction, stopping, then a shadow rushing to hold me him his arms. He rocked me like a baby as I sob into his chest.

At this moment, I feel so weak, so vulnerable. I hated that he was there, seeing me in such a low state.

But he was the only one I trusted.

He repeated the words—as he consistently wiped the tears from my eyes—"Everything is going to be fine".

After about fifteen minutes, I calm down, sitting in Jeremy's lap, facing him and wrapping my legs around his waist. I look down to his chest, embarrassed. "I'm sorry, I'm an ugly crier."

He softly traces my jawline with kisses, making me giggle so hard I fall to the floor. He was on top of me. We locked eyes and slowly leaned into a kiss. Most of our kisses were heated and passionate; but this one was soft, sweet, and calm.

After letting go, we stared in silence. Eventually, he began to kiss my jawline again, knowing my weak spot. I giggled loudly once more. This soon lead him to begin laughing like crazy, falling on his back next to me. Being with him always made me feel better.

After we caught our breath, Jeremy rolled to his side to face me—I followed suit. I brushed the hair out of his face, making him smile. He took the hand I was using and kissed it. We held each other close as we slowly drifted off to sleep.

Even though the worst may happen, I knew Jeremy was going to be with me through it all.

     And nothing could change that.
