Here we are. Today is the day. I will walk down a glittering runway, on a leg that looks real, that I got because of an accident, that happened because bad things happen to good people sometimes.
But really, really good things can happen too. Good things come, like a thief in the night, totally unexpected. It'll knock you off your feet so hard that you can't breathe. It'll be a wild chase, the best chase. You will have no time to stop and catch your breath.
And when that good thing goes away, you'll be left with a smile or you'll be left with an empty hole.
Today, I'm being fitted with the most gorgeous outfit. And I will walk down the runway with a huge smile on my face, a huge hole in my heart, and an empty stomach.

Evan Gatton was my good thing. And man, was he good. Lighting up my world like the neon signs of that club in Puerto Rico. People will ask me about him when they read the "Life Before Fame" section on my Wikipedia page and they see his name. He's there.

A mark I can't erase. A void I cannot fill.

The crowd cheers and the music begins.
