Huey was home alone, the twins at the park playing basketball. He decided he'd get ready for bed early and take a shower.

Huey grabbed his phone, speaker, and towel and headed to the bathroom. He took his clothes off and started the water. As he waited for it to warm up, he went to his playlist (yes Huey listens to actual music) and pressed shuffle. Pretty Wings by Maxwell played and Huey got in the shower. As the song played, Huey started singing.

Time will bring the real end of our trial, one day there'll be no remnants
No trace, no residual, feelings within ya, one day you won't remember me

Jada and Riley walked in, Jada shushing her brother.

"Mane what?" Riley questions. Jada put her hand on his mouth and shushed him again.

Your face will be the reason I smile, but I will not see what I cannot have forever, I'll always love ya, I hope you feel the same

Jada went upstairs to make sure she heard right. And indeed, Huey was singing.

Oh, you played me dirty, your game was so bad, you toyed with my affliction, had to fill out my prescription, found the remedy, I had to set you free

"Why we outside the door?" Riley questions. "So what this nigga singing?"

"Riley. Shut the fuck up! If he hears you imma break your neck!"

Riley gulped, seeing how his twin's face was beyond serious.

Away from me, to see clearly the way that love can be, when you are not with me, I had to live, I had to live, I had to leave, I had to leave

The twins were surprised to hear their older brother sing. Huey was really good! Like better than they'd imagine.

If I can't have you, let love set you free, to fly your pretty wings around pretty wings, your pretty wings, your pretty wings, pretty wings around

I came wrong, you were right, transformed your love into light, baby believe me, I'm sorry I told you lies

I turned day into night, sleep 'til I died a thousand times, I should've showed you, better nights better times better days, I miss you more and more

Jada had called Jazmine and Cindy over and now Jada, Riley, Jazmine, and Cindy were by the bathroom door with their ears pressed against the door.

If I can't have you, let love set you free, to fly your pretty wings around, pretty wings, your pretty wings, your pretty wings, your pretty wings around, so pretty wings, your pretty wings around, your pretty wings, your pretty wings around, so pretty wings, oh, pretty wings around, pretty wings, your pretty wings around

Caesar had joined everyone. 5 ears pressed against the door.

Your pretty wings, pretty wings around

Everyone was mesmerized by Huey's singing. He was really good. They were so mesmerized that they did even notice him turn off the shower water.

Huey looked down in confusion as his girlfriend, best friend, brother, sister, and white friend were all on the floor when he opened the door.

"H-hey Huey," Jada greets, still on they ground. "What's... Up?"

Huey scowled. He stepped over everyone and went to his room.

"Oh come, Huey!" Jazmine calls after him. "You were so good!"

"Jazmine!" Jada grabs Jazmine's wrist and pulls her back.

"What?"

"He won't do it again if you put a lot of energy into it."

Jazmine sighs.

Huey doesn't leave his for the rest of the night, everyone feeling bad. They knew Huey was embarrassed about it.

"Babe," Jazmine walks into the room. Huey ignores her. "Come on, Huey. We didn't mean to upset you."

"It doesn't matter, Jazmine. Just get out."

"Huey-"

"Jazmine. Just go.." Jazmine sighs and nods, getting ready to leave the room. "Wait."

Jazmine looks back at Huey who sighs,

"I didn't like you guys listening from outside the door because I don't really like singing."

"But why?" Jazmine asked, "You have such a beautiful voice."

"It reminds me too much of my parents."

"Awe, I'm sorry Huey."

Huey only looks away.

"You shouldn't feel about, Huey," Jazmine sits on his lap, straddling him. She turns his face to face her. "You should embrace it. It's a piece of your parents you still have."

Huey looks at Jazmine before smiling.

"I guess."

"So will you sing more?" Jada asks opening the door.

"Jada?! What the hell?!" Huey questions.

"Sorry, I just never heard you sing before and I sing and we could sing together and-" Riley puts his hand over Jada's mouth,

"You talk too damn much."

Huey chuckles,

"I should do it more often."
