Synopsis
Hachiman Hikigaya is an apathetic high school student with narcissistic and semi-nihilistic tendencies. He firmly believes that joyful youth is nothing but a farce, and everyone who says otherwise is just lying to themselves.

In a novel punishment for writing an essay mocking modern social relationships, Hachiman's teacher forces him to join the Volunteer Service Club, a club that aims to extend a helping hand to any student who seeks their support in achieving their goals. With the only other club member being the beautiful ice queen Yukino Yukinoshita, Hachiman finds himself on the front line of other people's problems—a place he never dreamed he would be. As Hachiman and Yukino use their wits to solve many students' problems, will Hachiman's rotten view of society prove to be a hindrance or a tool he can use to his advantage?

This series is absolutely AWESOME!Looking back at my high school years, I wished I've watched this anime so I could better understand my surroundings; maybe be sensitive of other's feelings, and might be able to meet a Hikigaya-like guy ^^ He's the unpopular guy because of his unpopular looks and attitude that will totally capture your heart because of his undeniable wisdom and unusual personality. Hikigaya is the new cool guy (just like Ryuji (of Toradora) and Harima (of School Rumble)) ;)

This anime has two seasons. Compared to the first season, second season has better art style (Hikigaya looks cool in 2nd season!)  The plot development from 1st to 2nd is good, giving us a lesson that we can treasure for the rest of our life. ^*^ I am looking forward to its season 3 to watch the progress of their complicated love triangle story this time :)

P.S. I did read some review on the last episode of season 2. It helped me a lot to understand their deep conversation (well I just don't wanna guess or and have my own conclusion, so I did a research.  ;))

Quotes:

"Everyone has something they hold dear, something they never want to lose. That's why they pretend. That's why they hide the truth. And that's why they lie" ~ Hachiman Hikigaya

"There's probably no one who's more of a realist than the unpopular loner. I have lived my life with the Three Nevers of the Unpopular: never to hold (hope), never to open (your heart), and never to treasure (sweet words)" ~ Hachiman Hikigaya

"I think, if you want to improve yourself, you should challenge your own limits" ~ Yukino Yukinoshita

"Isn't changing yourself the same as running away? Why can't you just accept who you are?" ~ Hachiman Hikigaya

"Trying not to hurt others is something you can't do. People are creatures who hurt others just by existing even if they're not aware of it. Whether you're living or dying, you'll always be hurting someone. Once you're involved, you'll hurt someone, and even by not being involved, you might be hurting someone else as well" ~ Shizuka Hiratsuka

"Hard work betrays none, but dreams betray many" - Hachiman Hikigaya

"People who don't work hard don't have the right to be envious of the people with talent. People fail because they don't understand the hard work necessary to be successful" - Yukino Yukinoshita
