It was a hectic first week of April as the family was getting ready to leave to a beach house in upper Bell Air for spring break. It was the entire family of Callie and Lexi going. All their kids, parents, in-laws and grand children.
"Are we there yet?" Leticia and Olivia asked at the same time. Lexi sighed.
"Were our older babies like this?" Lexi asked. Callie shook her head more.
"No, they read more," Callie added. "These ones are just different."
"If anyone asks me one more time if we are there yet, I will pull this car around and go home," Lexi added.
"I didn't know you can pull a car, mommy?" Lafayette asked.
"No jokes right now, Lafayette Deanna. You are still on thin ice with mama and I," Lexi added that shut the girl up. She nodded and went back to reading and Alexandra was still not talking to her twin.
An hour later, the family stopped at a burger joint to get some food for everyone. Jesus, Yvette and their kids came as well and in two vans. Everyone got out and went into McDonald's and Callie sighed. "Can we go to Farmer Boys?"
"I want happy kids and they have the play area and we have a gift card to McDonald's, babe," Lexi added as Callie nodded as she remembered.
All the kids got happy meals and the adults got combos. The kid area was packed and all the younger kids went into the play structure. Soon, the food came and all the adults got their respective kids. Sarah was even invited and Denise.
The kids and the adults ate the food. They were a few minutes away, if they did not catch traffic at all. Cassie and Denise sat near each other as they eyed each other and winked.
"Do you think they will let us sleep in the same room?" Denise asked.
"I highly doubt it," Cassie added. "You know my moms' are G-Rated."
"Why have all the little kids?" Denise asked. Cassie thought.
"I wish I knew? Maybe we weren't enough for them. I guess," Cassie admitted as her moms' walked by and where shocked. They never knew their kids thought like that. Their hearts broke and all after they heard what Cassie said.
"How do you feel?" Denise asked. "With your birth?"
"Like strays sometimes. No one wanted us at first and we still feel like that," Cassie admitted.
Callie and Lexi were about to walk over, but Stef and Lena stopped them.
"We understand them completely," Lena added. "Talk to her later and maybe the others?"
Callie and Lexi nodded as they went back to the little kids and sighed.
At the beach house, everyone was unpacked and in their rooms. "Want to talk with Cassie?" Callie asked. Lexi nodded.
"Hi baby buggy. Can we talk?" Callie asked. Cassie nodded.
"We heard what you think about the little kids?" her moms' asked. Cassie bit her lip.
"How long did you feel like this?" Callie asked.
"Before mom had the twins and before you adopted Oliver and Olivia. Then I thought you were done, then you sprung Lafayette and Alexandra. At first, you didn't want BJ, MJ or me. But you wanted all these other kids," she added.
"Oh babe. Come here," Lexi added. "Why didn't you tell us anything?"
"I didn't want it to be about me," she added. Her moms' nodded and kissed her forehead.
