Off The Grid

"Come on. It will be great," Tabor Owens told her two friends, Lafayette and Alexandra about a trip to Palomar Mountain. "Please?" she asked begging.

"Fine," Lafayette added. "Only if Marie can come?"

"Sure. The more the merrier. What about your other sisters?" she asked.

"We can ask," Alexandra asked. They invited Beth, Leticia and Lilia as well as well as their Aunts Andrea, Autumn, Summer, and Emilie.

"What about Olivia?" Emilie asked.

"She's a buzz kill," the twin girls' added. "Are you in Emilie?"

"Sure," Emilie added unsure. "When do we leave?"

"After school," the twin girls' added. "I invited Marie."

"Then we won't be seeing you all weekend?" Andrea asked as Lafayette blushed.

"I feel bad about this," Emilie added. Autumn and Summer sighed. 

"It's just Palomar Mountain? What could go wrong?" the two older sisters' asked her. She nodded.

Come Friday, the girls' duffel bags were in Tabor's van so the moms' would not be suspicious of their 16 year old daughter's whereabouts. 

"Eat up babies. We have ten minutes," Cassie added. The kids'nodded and started to eat. It is now the last week of March and Eugene and Emilie just turned 16 a few days before. Harry is also 16 as of March 1. The twins' are March 20.

"Okay lets' get going," Cassie added.

The whole school day lagged on as the girls' were anxious for the day to end and the fun to begin. It was Free Period and Tabor wanted to go right then and there. Emilie stopped her.

"We can't. It would look suspicious," Emilie added. The other girls' sighed. They knew she was right. "She's right," Autumn and Summer added. "Red flags."

"Let's all go to the library?" Tabor asked.

What seemed like an eternity, they all left for Tabor's van and got in. They stopped at Tabor's favorite buffet and they each ate and laughed.

After the buffet, they all left to Palomar Mountain. It was a little while to get there. All the phones were turned off and all other electronics left at home.

"HERE WE ARE!" Tabor added. "My family's summer home."

"WOW. This is huge," the other girls added. "HUGE!"

"Well we each get a room," Tabor replied. "With the exception of Lafayette and Marie."

Everyone snickered as the couple glared at them and gave them the stink eye.

"This is great. No brothers," the twin girls' added. Their sister's nodded.

"Or little whiny kids," Autumn and Summer added. Emilie nodded.

They watched movies, ate and went to see the sights of Palomar Mountain. Tabor brought out the beer and pot. All the Adams Foster girls' were shocked. Tabor eyed them in shock and sighed.

"You have never tried this stuff?" she asked. They all shock their heads no,even Marie.

"Well it is fun and it takes the edge off," she added. Emilie declined as the other girls' laughed out loud at her expense. She left to her room to read a book and she sighed and wished she never came up here in the first place.

"I'M HOME!" Cassie added as she walked in her home as her youngest 13 came running. Eugene and Harry came as well. August and Andrew came home with Charlotte. The older kids' were still at work or college.
