13 - My killing sickness

After one week Nivi's working studio
Nivi's pov

I was just killing my time by doing some graphics work at my friend's studio. Suddenly Kiran came to me and said.

"Didi , it's good that we didn't involve in that matter at that night" he said it with some kind relaxation. After completing his sentence he even sighed

"Which matter? what matter? Say it clearly" I replied him by a confused look.

"Didi you already forgot? 2 months before we saw it right , that man , showing in TV , was raping that girl. "
Kiran said by rounding his eyes and little fear in voice. He pointed his fingers towards the TV.

Even though once I was a journalist, after this one year I never gave any Keen attention towards news, media anything related to journalism. As a journalist , that job has given me everything in life . Happiness, thrill, friends, everything but it also had took many things from me. For which now I am begging to everyone to give those things back to me. Till now I regret about my decision.

Now the news channels was full with the same Rajveer Mehta rape case. Yes it was the same guy who we had encountered at that night. But I am not sure about the girl. Because her face was not shown only a blurred image due to protection issues. The whole media was doing a postmortem at that innocent girl, someone discussing about her character, someone about her background. At first I didn't get what they are trying to do ?so I asked Kiran.

"Kiran what's happening?"

"What else ? It's again proved that money can do anything. The lawyer who appeared for this bastard almost proved that , this man didn't raped her infact she was framing him for money." He said it by a chuckle on his lips.

"How can that even possible? We already saw that night he ..." Kiran cut me in between.

"Shhh.shh..... didi say it slowly somebody will hear us. This case doesn't have any eyewitness. We are the only two witnesses which this world doesn't even know. Those people can do anything, they have money power and a powerful lawyer who can make any proofs inorder to save his clients. So people like us have to keep our mouth shut inorder to live peacefully." Kiran's sound was shivering due to fear.

"But Kiran this is not right, she is the victim here but now she is going to get punishment for her own loss. Come on Kiran it's not even late, see the news the last and final hearing is after two days, we have proof , and we are the eyewitness , if we go and say it in court one girl will get justice and her family can live peacefully. Come with me kiran" I said in a begging voice. I don't want anyone who is innocent to get punished due to lack of evidence. I had already faced such a situation not again it really hurts .

But Kiran was adamant that he is not going to be an eye witness. I can understand him, he is also right at his point he is the only son for his mother and she is ill and there was no one to take care of her. These people are dangerous they can even kill us inorder to save them. I was also afraid I don't want to die this much earlier. But that bastard 's smrinking face coming towards my mind when he beats up that poor girl.

Come on nivi this is not the time to show your fear. Your one sentence can save a girl . You already decided to do all things you want to do in this short time period then why are you backing off now? You can't have any regrets in your life when you go back. These are the some best ways to repay for your mistakes. My mind and my conscience was having a debate and finally I decided to appear as a witness. I excluded Kiran and become the single eyewitness.

I went to meet advocate Jaikishan Sarkar ,the prosecutor of the case , at first he was bit surprised and thought I was just a fake witness but when I handed over my memory card and showed him the photos and videos he believed me and he was surprised as well.

"So defence lawyer Siddarth Singh Khurana, the whole craps you presented in court was just fakes , right? Now let's see who is going to win . I think after this case our match will be a tie" Advocate mumbled to himself.

He assured me with rest and told me to appear at court on time. Now my mind feels so relaxed and I moved towards my scooty. But one thing one name was making twist and turns in my mind . Defence lawyer Siddarth Singh Khurana, I never saw him but this name sounds familiar, i repeated his name , that name was inside my past memories but not ready to come infront of lime light. After many tries I ignored and went back to home.

Varma house
Nivi's POV

May after a long time I joined the dinner with my family, everyone was surprised. The real reason is I was bit tensed and nervous thinking about going to court. I never stepped into court room even for once. But day after tomorrow I am going to be a witness , going to face judge , feirece questions from lawyers my head start to spin. I tried to calm down myself.

Dining table fellows was also discussing about the case that's how I came to know that Avantika is the assistant of defence lawyer and she was literally praising him infront of everyone. To more accurate she was worshiping that bloody lier lawyer. Poor girl she doesn't even know her god is going to loose tomorrow's case. My cousins wish her all the best.

I somehow managed to sleep but nightmares were not letting me. My head was aching severely . I managed to withstand but no use. I kept my hands at both sides of my head and pull my hair due to pain. I just remembered something. Tears began to flow from my eyes not due to pain in my head, but due to the pain in my heart. I felt heavy inside my heart .

"No .. not now, plsss , don't do this to me now. It's ok nivi you are absolutely fine, nothing going happen to you right now. You are the strongest, you are the bravest, nivi just hang in there, for some more time, everything is going to be fine." I mumbled to myself. I tried to Console me.

I began to bite my pillow due to the pain and start to scream by digging my face into the pillow. No this is not going to work. I tried to stood up from my bed , my vision was blurred my head was spinning. But I some how managed to reach till my wardrobe . I took out my medicine box and tried to search for the medicine. Two boxes were empty. I throw it to the floor due to anger and pain. I forgot to order it. Somehow I found the painkiller and swallows it . This was the third time I am having this pain killer in last one month. Doctor had strictly warned me from using it only at emergency condition because it's a high dose pain killer. After 5 minutes I felt better and soon I fell asleep.

So nivi was in a immense pain in her head. Is it due to the tension or anything else? Let's see those things eventually. Still she didn't revealed about her secret. Nivi and Siddarth never encountered into a serious discussion, meeting or anything , they are still strangers to each other. Then how they are going to fall in love. Or didn't they ever fall for each other. Let's see ....
