Naruto was confused, well, more so than usual. He just didn't understand any of this and he couldn't figure out why.

The cause of his confusion was, of course, Sasuke Uchiha. Who else could it have been? The teen was a variety of things, confusing was definitely one of those things.

But Naruto could usually understand him better than anyone, that's what was making this so...well, confusing.

So Naruto sat in his thinking tree, where he planned to sit until all of this was worked out and he understood Sasuke once more.

Naruto decided to think back to when Sasuke started acting so strange and just go from there.

It was raining the day it started. And, of course, Naruto forgot his umbrella at home. He was standing under an overhang, waiting for the rain to thin out just a little so he could run back to his apartment after a long day of training.

Usually he would have just ran through the rain, but he had an important mission tomorrow and couldn't risk missing out on it because of a cold.

So he stood, waiting for the rain to slow down enough for him to go home. The rain answered his wish with a deep rumble of thunder.

Just as he was about to give in and risk the cold, someone started talking.

"Did you really forget an umbrella on a day like this, or do you just really like the rain?" the familiar voice asked.

"If you must know, I forgot it at home," Naruto turned to face his best friend with a pout on his lips.

A small smile appeared on Sasuke's face when he saw the adorable pout the other had. It was a smile only Naruto could get out of him.

"Are you waiting for the rain to thin out or just admiring it?" the raven questioned, watching the blonde with caring eyes.

The oblivious blonde just flashed a smile, "Waiting, I don't want to catch a cold before my mission tomorrow."

Sasuke looked from his umbrella to the blonde.

"Here, take this and walk home. I don't need it as much as you do," the Uchiha handed him the umbrella without a second thought.

"What? No, that's yours. I don't want you to get sick, Sasuke," Naruto refused, trying to give the small umbrella back.

"Naruto, take the umbrella," Sasuke told him, pushing the black umbrella into the blonde's hands.

Naruto paused for a second before asking, "Are you sure?"

"I'm sure."

"Are you really, though? Because I don't want to steal your umbrella when you're not sure."

Sasuke rolled his eyes and began to walk into the rain, a small smile made its way onto his face.

He was like that this whole week, Naruto thought. Way too nice to be normal.

First with the umbrella, then with the extra help with training, and next was buying him lunch. He was either trying to make up for something or it wasn't really Sasuke.

Favoring the latter of the two options, Naruto started to wonder if this nice Sasuke had any differences in appearance to the old Sasuke.

The facial structure was still the same, strong and defined yet oddly delicate. His eyes were the same. The color so dark and bold, Sasuke's eyes were absolutely intriguing to Naruto.

The lips were definitely the same. Naruto had the shape and color memorized from the many times he'd sneak a glance at them. They were as kissable as ever when Naruto had talked to Sasuke earlier.

Naruto knew he had a sort of thing for Sasuke for a while now. It was nothing new, so he didn't worry too much about how he described the raven; he had come to accept that he liked Sasuke a long time ago.

Naruto let out a groan and slumped against the tree's trunk. This nice Sasuke wasn't an imposter, he knew he wasn't. His brain was coming up with excuses why Sasuke was being nice to him to protect him from hoping the reason he was being so kind was that Sasuke liked him.

But doesn't it just make sense? His brain asked.

Naruto shook his thoughts away and gave up on thinking about Sasuke. All it was doing was confusing him even more anyways.

"You look more more confused than usual," the man plaguing his thoughts said.

Naruto let out a shriek and almost fell off his tree branch. He put a hand over his beating heart when he realized it was only Sasuke.

"How did you sneak up on me?" Naruto breathed out.

"Wasn't hard. You were completely zoned out," Sasuke answered, shrugging.

Naruto looked the Uchiha up and down. He was leaned against the tree opposite Naruto. His arms were crossed over his chest and Naruto couldn't help but think about how hot he looked right now.

Sasuke smirked as he watched the blonde look him over and he took his time to look Naruto over as well. The blonde was sat against the tree's trunk, one leg was hanging over the side of the branch while the other was pulled to his chest, his hands resting on top of his knee. Sasuke couldn't help but to admit that his Naruto looked very good right now.

Finally, blue eyes met charcoal black. Naruto's eyes widened and he quickly looked away from the intense stare.

"So, how did you know I was here?" Naruto asked.

"I come here to think sometimes," Sasuke admitted.

"What'd you come to think about?" Naruto pressed.

"You."

Naruto's eyes widened, "What?"

Sasuke smirked, "You heard what I said."

"What do you need to think about me for?" the blonde asked after a pause.

"I think about you a lot these days," the raven said.

"Why?" Naruto questioned, he wanted it to be true so bad.

"I care about you," Sasuke finally said, then added, "more than a friend should."

Naruto could've sworn he had died and gone to heaven. Sasuke cared about him too!

"Are you okay down there?" Sasuke asked, suddenly in front of Naruto.

"Yeah, I kinda zoned out."

"So," the Uchiha prompted the Uzumaki after a pause.

"What? Oh, sorry," Naruto laughed as he stood to his feet.

"I care about you more than a friend should, too," the blonde giggled.

Sasuke's smirk turned into a smile as he stared into the beautifully blue eyes in front of him.

The raven leaned in to place his lips over Naruto's. Both of them sighed in content.

The kiss was soft and passionate. Both had to agree it was nothing like their first shared kiss.

This one was patient and beautiful just like their relationship was going to be.

They separated to take a breath and rested their foreheads against each other.

"Next time, don't wait so long to tell me you like me, I thought you had been replaced with a nicer clone," Naruto laughed out.

They both shared a laugh and then another kiss. They knew this was going to be great.
