Beast Boy planted his feet into the cold gravel and lunged at Raven.
Ravens empty eyes locked on his full ones as his body swiftly bounded closer and closer to hers. Her mind went blank, and it felt like time itself had slowed down. She didn't want to believe Beast Boy was attacking her. Her mind began to work again, and she told herself he was running up to her to give her a hug, and tell her everything was okay.
That he was okay. That she was okay. And it wouldn't be a beautiful truth disguised as an excruciating lie.
Raven felt two strong hands wrap underneath her arms that yanked her up into the air, and out of her clouded mind.
Beast Boy wrapped his arms around the space where Raven used to be and crashed into the ground.
Raven shook her head and quickly floated out of Starfires hold.
Beast Boy sat on his knees with his face to the ground, letting out a low growl. Raven flew in his direction, only to be yanked back by her hood.
"Starfire!" Raven hissed, extremely annoyed Starfire so much as touched her cloak. She gave Star a cold stare as she tossed her hood back over her head.
"I am sorry, Raven." Starfire said, clasping her hands together. "But you are going to get hurt if you attempt to interact with him. Right now, that is not Beast Boy."
Raven frowned and looked back over to Beast Boy as he jumped back to his feet.
Running on all fours, Beast Boy targeted Robin. Robin swiftly moved out of Beast Boys lunge and chucked a flash bomb in his face.
Beast Boy screamed and clasped his hands over his eyes. Robin sprinted behind the stumbling Beast Boy and placed his bow staff around his neck.
Beast Boy felt for the staff and yanked it out of Robins strong grip, throwing it across the rocks.
He then turned around and took Robin by the neck, quickly regaining his sight. Robin held onto Beast Boys hands, attempting to control his breathing.
"B-Beast Boy... it's me. Snap out of it!"
Beast Boy drew back his arm and launched Robin across the rocks, his body flopping like that of a rag dolls.
Robin held his arms to his chest as he violently rolled over the sharp shards. His feet flew off the edge and his body quickly followed after.
"Robin!" Starfire screamed as she zipped towards his direction.
Robin let out gasp as the rest of his body tumbled off the cliff towards the sharper and rocks below him. Starfires eyes began to glow a faint green and she flew even faster. She dove underneath Robin and caught him with her trembling arms. Robins shaking hand released his prepared grappling hook and he smiled at Star.
"You are welcome." Star smiled back.
Cyborgs arm made a loud clank as it shifted into his sonic cannon. "Beast Boy! Stand down." He warned, pointing his weapon at his friend. Beast let out that same low growl before charging. Cyborgs arm hissed as its blue ray hit Beast Boy right in the chest.
Raven turned around and squeezed her eyes shut, trying to pull herself together.
Beast Boy yelped as a shock of pain formed throughout his entire body. He felt a burning sensation in his chest and it continued to grow.
He closed his eyes as his chest slowly rose up and down to the patterns of his breathing.
Cyborg ran to his side and dropped to his knees. "Beasty? Beasty, are you in there? Can you hear me Beast Boy?" Beast Boy clasped his hand on Cyborgs robotic arm, his eyes still closed. Cyborg jumped at the sudden movement and stood up, but his arm remained in Beast Boys unbreakable grip. Beast Boy tightened his grip, and Cyborgs arm began to crumble under the pressure.
Raven turned back around, sadness absorbing her features. She rose her hand and took ahold of Beast Boy with her powerful magic. She held him up into air and let him struggle there. "Enough!" She screamed, her eyes glowing white. Beast Boy grinned and used his claws to tear through her hold. The blackness of her powers weaved through his fingers like smooth strands of hair.
Ravens eyes widened in disbelief as she lowered her hand. "Impossible..." She stuttered. Beast By landed on his feet before standing.
He crept towards her and held out his claws. "Gar..."
He slashed at her shoulder, causing her to cry out in pain. Robin attacked from behind, but was too slow. Beast Boy took him out with one punch, doing the same to Starfire. Their body's fell to the ground, breathing slowly.
Raven backed up, her hand on her wound. Beast Boy grabbed her arms and held his claws out once more.
"Finish her!" Slade commanded.
"Garfield, I know your in there." Raven placed her bloody hand on Beast Boy face and kissed him softly. The slits in Beast Boys eyes began to become full again, but continued to shrink back.
"Raven?" He asked as there lips parted.
"Yes! Yes it's me, it's me, your okay."
"No I'm not, I'm still... not... safe..." his pupils shrunk and and grew, causing his head to hurt. He placed his hands on his temples and tried to focus.
"I said, finish her!" Slade ordered once more, pushing the red button he still held in his hand. The slits in Beast Boys eyes held, but began to fluctuate at the sight of Ravens trembling body.
He turned to Slade and began to stumble in his direction. Slade held his ground, and let Beast Boy come.
Beast Boys eyes continued to dilate and shrink over and over as he grit his teeth. "Get this chip out of me." Beast Boy dryly said, his voice amplified.
Slade pushed the button one more time. Beast Boy could feel his instincts starting to reemerge. "No..." He said under his breath as he began to lose control. "Kill the Titans."
Beast Boy shook his head and began to hyperventilate. He ripped a single blade out of Slades belt and closed his eyes. He gripped the little bit of control he still had, and plunged the blade into his side.
"No!" Slade angrily screamed. "You fool, I wasn't done with you!"
Robins eyes fluttered open and he quickly, but drowsily ran at Slade, easily taking him out with his bow staff he retrieved.
Beast Boy clawed at the chip in his neck, finally pulling it out. He breathed heavily as warm blood began to coat his bare skin. Beast Boy gasped, and heaved in a heavy breath before falling to the cold ground. Raven staggered to her feet and bolted to where Beast Boy lay.
"Oh my god... hey. N-no, no, no, no, no. Keep your eyes open, do you understand me?" Raven choked as Beast Boys eye lids grew heavy.
Robin uneasily poked Slades body, not satisfied that he could take him out that easily. He crouched down and tore of Slades mask, revealing robotic gears and a small camera.
"A robot..." Robin confirmed.
Beast Boys ears dropped. "No..." He faintly said. When he tortured me.. he wasn't a robot. I s-saw him without his mask. How-"
"Shh, we don't have to worry about that right now." Raven softly said. Beast Boys eyes shifted to her bloodied arm.
"I hurt you. I'm so sorry Raven." He said, tears filling his eyes.
"You didn't hurt me. Slade did this, okay? Not you. He's gone now. Your sa-"
"Beast Boy!" Starfire and Cyborg yelled simultaneously.
Raven bit her lip, trying to stay strong for him. She held his hand and kissed it, gliding her thump over the back of his hand. "Your going to be okay." She cried.
Beast Boys breathing began to slow down. "I'm sorry Raven."
"Garfield? Garfield! Gar..."
Her screams and sobs became a distant whisper, and his surroundings began to fade. A peaceful nothingness engulfed him, as he took what he believed would be the last breath he would ever take.
"Stay with me..."
