Lena walked into her new office at the New York Times, slumping on the large leather chair that only a CEO could sit in, she opened her laptop carefully, putting her reading glasses on her pale face, of course she didn't need glasses she was a Hybrid, a member of the undead but Lena thought it made her look much more professional and she needed all the help she could get in that department especially when Kara was around. Her raven hair draped around her shoulders like a cape, she couldn't be bothered tying it up that particular morning not after her emotional night with Kara that she had yet to recover from. It was almost nine in the morning now, and the office had begun to fill with busy new reporters that Lena had vetted before deciding to keep on, suddenly Lena heard a faint knock on the glass door of her office, she glanced up and saw the unmistakable body of Kara standing nervously at the door, Lena closed her laptop over gentley before waving her in.

"Miss Doran, how can I help you?" Lena said, a weary smile on her face, Kara sat down on the chair on the other side of Lena's desk, Kara sighed heavily putting down her sparkly notepad and pen beside Lena's laptop, making the brunette roll her eyes slightly, of course Kara had a sparkly notebook what more could she expect from someone so young?

"Please, don't call me that, no one can hear us here just call me Kara" the blonde said, pushing her glasses back up her nose, Lena leaned back in her chair her legs crossed, a pen twirling carelessly in her hand, she was the definition of a bangable boss, Kara gulped unsteadily as Lena raised an eyebrow, glasses had never looked so good.

"Very well Kara, how can I help you?" Lena said sighing, the only thing she desired was sitting right across from her but she had lost the right to pull Kara into any of her problems long ago and thats something Lena was just going to have to live with.

"I feel like I'm two people, like in Harry Potter when professor Quirrell has Lord Voldemort's face on the back of his head" Kara blurted out, Lena looked clueless, like she didn't completely understand the metaphor that Kara was trying to create.

"So you're telling me that you have been possessed by some evil being?" Lena said raising an eyebrow, Kara groaned rubbing her head in her hands, how was she ever going to make Lena understand how she felt?

"No" Kara paused for a minute thinking about the best way to word her next sentence carefully. She breathed heavily before continuing, "When I'm Katy Doran, I have my life figured out, I have this amazing job as a reporter at the New York Times and a girlfriend who I love with all my heart." Kara paused for a breath and Lena couldn't help but glare at the thought of that girl in Kara's arms instead of her. "But when I'm Kara Danvers, I'm a orphan who is scared to death that any day now Alex the last member of my family is going to be ripped away from me just like Eliza and just like Jeremiah." Kara paused again her face beginning to turn red at what she was about to confess to, Lena had a look of sympathy and guilt plastered on her face, she couldn't help but feel responsible for Kara's confusion she sent her away, sent her to New York, it was her fault. "I am also in love with this amazing, mysterious woman who is so fiercely independent that its so hot and so frustrating at the same time, she thinks that she's this horrible monster but she is the most beautiful person I have ever seen in my entire life" Kara said, her cheeks now as hot as a volcano. Lena smiled, realising that the woman on Kara's mind was her. Before Lena had a chance to reply her phone rang.

"Sorry I have to get this" Lena mumbled, picking up the phone and putting it to her ear, still smiling at a now embarrassed Kara. "Hello?" Lena said through the receiver.

"We have your brothers" An ominous voice said hoarsely through the receiver, Lena's heart skipped a beat.

"Who are you?" Lena asked, not recognising the deep male voice on the other end of the line.

"That doesn't matter, turn yourself over to Niklaus Mikaleson along with the blonde by the full moon or your brothers won't be long for this world" The voice said, and with that the call had ended, Lena put her phone down slowly, shaking with fear and rage, what the hell was she going to do, she couldn't turn Kara over to Klaus he would kill her as soon as he laid eyes on her, and she promised herself she would never return to that torturous beast of a man, well Hybrid, it was his fault Lena was like this in the first place.

"That was him wasn't it? That was Niklaus?" Kara asked, seeing that expression written across Lena's face. Lena shook her head.

"That was one of his lackeys" Lena replied, voice cracking slightly as she did.

"Whatever this is whatever has happened, we will fight this together I'm not letting you push me out again" Kara said sternly, Lena was to distracted to put up much of a fight she nodded slowly.

"They have Damon and Stefan" Lena croaked out again.

"What can I do to help?"
