I jump up as I hear zombies swarming on the ground below me. I look down to see them grabbing at my legs. I start to panic, but remember I've done this before. I take my backpack and unzip it. I take out a gun that I use for emergencies. Like this emergency. I press the button to pop out the clip. 8 bullets. I then count the zombies. 12 zombies. I look around for another weapon and see a rock wedged between two branches, but it's too high for me to reach from here. I'll have to climb.

I've always been afraid of heights. When I was little, my dad took me to a beautiful resort on top of a mountain. My ears popped as we got about 756 elavation. I tried to go back to sleep, but my head and my ears hurt to much. My dad turned on the radio so I might be able to sleep. I did eventually, but I couldn't get over the fact that I might fall off the mountain.

I take a deep breath and stand to my feet. My hands and face sweating. I hold onto the tree as tight as I can, closing my eyes and thinking about getting to the top.

My eyes shoot open as I hear gun shots. Bodies drop below me. I start to panic again. What now? I look down at the ground, all the bodies are lying dead. Well, deader than before. I
reach for my gun, still looking at the dead bodies. My finger tips run over the metallic barrel. I grab it and pull it close to my chest.

"Come on, you can do it." My thoughts whisper in my head.

I hold it up to my eye and aim for the boys head first. They both stop as I cock the trigger. The girl points up the tree, where I'm at. They start to run as I pull back. I start to breathe heavily. I drop the gun into my belt instead of my backpack. I quickly grab my crowbar.

"Hey!" A voice says. I don't dare to look down. "Hey! we know you're up there!" He shouts again. This time I look down at them. He has black hair and kind hazel eyes. The girl has long brown hair and pretty brown eyes. The boy stares at me, putting down the gun. The girl squints at me.

"Firess?" She says my name. I look at the girl and slide down the tree.

"Aria?" I hug my best friend tight in my arms.
