"Firess, we have to go, now! The full hoard is coming!"

I ignore Cade and keep holding Austin in my trembling arms.

"Firess! Leave him! We have to go, now!" He grabs my arm, but I yank it away and stare at him in disbelief. I shake my head and push him away.

"You don't tell me what to do! I'll die if I want!" I let out a long breath and push Cade out of the room. "I can handle myself." I say smoothly as I push him out of the room and crack the door.

I walk over to Austin and look at his bite. I hope he doesn't die.

I remember when I fell on the concrete and busted my head open. It hurt so bad. I had to get stitches. That's what I'll do. It might not be the best idea, but it's an idea that just might work. But first, I find a pen and some paper. I write a note to Austin.

"Dear Austin,

I promise I'll be back for you! Please, don't go anywhere. I bandaged you up, so you can change that. By the time you're reading this, I'll be long gone. A hoard of stalkers are coming, and we have to leave. I'm fine, my side still stings a little, but I'll be okay. Don't worry about me, and I won't worry about you, because I know I'll see you again."

From then on, I promised myself, I would never cry. Like how I promised myself I would help the people I love and the people that love me.

I went up to see if Firess was alright, because I heard crying. When I saw her, I decided to wait outside of the door. She had a threaded needle in her hand, and her other placed on Austin's side.

I almost jump out of my skin when I see what's happening. She's gonna stitch him up. What the heck does she think she's doing? She's gonna kill him, but what do I care?

I watch her hover her hands over his bite, sweat beads drip from her forehead as she concentrates. I watch Austin, lifeless, as she pushes the needle into his soft skin. She turns her head so she doesn't have to watch. I would too.....

She finally finishes, but she isn't crying. She holds the bloody needle in front of her face, giving it the death glare, why? I dont know.

She sets the things down, and pulls Austin sshriver his stomach. As she starts to leave the room, I get up and leave before she can see me. I wouldn't want to make her upset. It's not nice to keep secrets from friends.

I lock the door to the room Austin was in just in case stalkers do get inside the house. I walk down the steps to see Cade bossing everyone around, as usual. Rainy and Wagner must be an item because they are inseparable. I lean over the railing with a fake smile.

"Hey!" I yell at Cade. He turns around, as if startled by my squeaky voice. "I said I was in charge! Remember? Now, let's go!" Cade sighs and looks at me.

"Who made you in charge?" He crosses his arms and smirks at me.

"The person in charge did!" He loses his smirk and his arms unfold and drop to his side.

"Fine, gosh." He whispers to himself.

"What now?" Allyson says. I run up to her and cover her mouth.

"Don't EVER ask that question." I release my hand, and all of them stare at me as I do. She slowly nods her head and stands with group who I have given 'advice'. Which is only Cade and her.

"Alright! Fast ones in front, slow ones in back. So me, Aria, Rainy, and Jason, in front. Allyson Cade and Wagner, in back." I wink at Allyson, then look at Cade. "I put you back here to keep Allyson safe." He nods his head.

"I understand." Allyson stands there, jaw dropped because I figured out her secret about her little crush. Oh my gosh, I'm starting to sound like a high school girl. Ugh.

"Wait! I'll go back with Wagner!" Rainy says quickly after Cade is finished talking. I shrug my shoulders.

"Whatever you want. I put the slow ones in back in case the hoard is really close, and we gotta move." Everybody nods, understanding the way I arranged them.

I push open the door and think about Austin again. Oh, no.

I look over to Cade.

"Where's Cole?"
