Alone

Chapter 16

He tickles me as soon as I let go.

"Stop! Please!" I yell at him "Hahahaha! Stop it! STOP! HAHAHA!" I yell. He laughs and stops tickling me for a second while I catch my breath. I put my hands on my knees and hang my hair over my head, where it almost touches the ground.

"Don't ever! Do that again!" I yell, pushing him to the side and sitting next to Aria.

"Well well well, I've missed you pipsqueak!" He yells at Aria.

"Oh shut it fat face." She yells back with a smirk. He rolls his eyes and gives her a hug.

"Hey! It's not a friend reunion!" The main guy has blond hair and green eyes, he is buff too. Allyson stares at him, closing her eyes sometimes to try and remember the dream.

I look up at the main guy and ask his name. He stands in a super hero stance, and says

"It's Cade." I burst out laughing as he says it in a super hero voice.

I put my hands up.

"This isn't super man, or spider man, or any man, it's the freakin zombie apocalypse, bro!" I look up at him and keep laughing, until I realize he is serious.

"I will let you know, I was in military training whenever this "stuff" started happening, so I am very well trained, and hope that you give me some respect." He says calmly. I stand up and get up in his face again. I whisper, but loud enough to where everyone can hear.

"You want respect? You're gonna have to earn it...." I slowly back away, and see a glint of fear in his eyes. Well then my job here is done.

I look back at my group, they are all smiling at me. Aria pats me on the back.

"You always were the sassy fearless." I smile at her. I see Jason nod his head.

I clap my hands together

"Alright, we got some rules!" I shout out at all the boys.

Jason's P.O.V -4 years earlier-

"Firess! Wait up!" I tell after Firess.

"Hahaha tag! you're it!" Aria shouts. "Jason's it!" Aria yells at Firess, who is on the other side of my house.

I hear them giggle as they reunite on the other side of the wall. I smile as I realize I love them. I need them, both of them.

"I'm gonna get you guys!" I yell after them.

I spot Firess peering around a corner. I decide sneak attack, so I tip toe to her. When I'm in arms reach, I tackle her the ground and tickle her so much, that her throat hurts when I get up. I give her a hand and she grabs it.

"Hahaha Firess is it!" Aria yells. I quickly jump off her and race around the building. We play tag until my mom calls me inside.

"Jason, come on inside! Dinner time!" My mom yells. Aria and Firess both sigh.

"I'll be out tomorrow!" I yell and wave at them. Even though we were about 14 and 15, I had the most fun, but I didn't know that would be the last time I saw her before now.

Firess's P.O.V -The present-

I smile and laugh all night with my old best friend, and my new ones. I hear Cade whisper in Jason's ear.

"I need your help, some
one is outside." I shiver as I hear him say that. I jump up.

"Whoa whoa! We don't keep secrets, and this is exactly why! If there are people outside, I need to know." I look at them Everyone stares at me. Rainy hugs one of the guys arms, then quickly let's go.

I grab my gun and rush towards the door.

"Wait Firess, we can handle it! It's only one guy!"

I grab the door knob and stop and tell over my shoulder.

"Well if you needed Jason's help, I don't think you can."

I pull open the door and feel the bullet push through my skin, and then out. I drop to my knees as I hold my stomach. I yelp as I see who is holding the gun and has also dropped the gun. Austin run towards me.

"Cole! I thought you were dead!" Austin's tears drip onto my arm. Cole aims the gun at Austin's head. BANG. THUD.

He's gone. And it's all my fault.
