"Hey Skye." Chase murmured as he sat on a chair next to her bed. He studied her face; pale and expressionless. Her eyes were lightly closed and her lips slightly parted.

The only sound was the steady beep that represented her heartbeat.

"What've you done to yourself this time eh?" He said, trying to make himself feel a little better.

"Oh Skye, Why didn't you talk to us? We would've been there for you and helped you get better." He thought about his earlier actions towards his friends.

"I feel awful about this, I've already yelled at Rocky. He's outside with the others crying his eyes out. We're all here: us and your parents. But they wanted me to speak to you." He looked up at her in the hopes that she'd open her eyes.

"Y'know, there's something I want to tell you but now I might not get the chance. I hope you can hear me but not at the same time." He laughed nervously and took a deep breath.

"I like you Skye. And I mean more than friends, more than best friends. You're beautiful, smart, funny and have always been there for me and the others. Your eyes are just incredible. Looking at then makes me feel better. Your smile makes even a crying Rocky laugh again. Your voice is the best thing I've ever heard and I really don't want to never hear that sound again. I'd do anything to hear you sing but I think that listening to our music videos isn't enough. You're freaking stunning just the way you are Skye and I don't know why anyone else's opinions would make you think otherwise." He held her hand in his and let his tears fall.

"I guess what I'm trying to say is that I can't stop thinking about you. More specifically you and me. I keep hoping that we'd be together as a couple, go to prom together and stay with each other for the rest of our lives. Maybe I'm crazy maybe not, I'm in love with you Skye - completely head over heels - but I don't know why someone as incredible as you would want a loser like me." He looked up at her again, his hands still holding hers.

There were tears rolling down Chase's cheek but he didn't care. He raised the three hands to his cheek, resting them there. He closed his eyes and whispered four words that he had only ever said to one person but this time he hoped it wasn't too late.

"Please don't leave me." He kept his eyes closed, praying that she would wake up and say something.

He could've sworn that he stopped breathing when he felt Skye move one of her fingers and run it lightly over the brunette's nose.

He opened his eyes and moved his hands to see a very pale Skye laying next to him and looking up with her large magenta eyes full of tears.

"Y-you mean that?" She stammered, her voice cracking.

Chase couldn't believe what was happening. "Every word." He shifted closer to her and they continued looking at each other.

Chase tucked a stray strand of Skye's hair behind her ear and without any hesitation, the pair leaned closer and pressed their lips together.

In that moment, they forgot everything and everyone else and only focused on one another, their lips moving in sync. The two pulled apart and looked at each other, tears of joy in their eyes. Skye reached up and placed her hand on Chase's cheek where he rested his hand on hers.

"You have no idea how long I've been wanting to hear that."
