They decided to head to the lab in Minneapolis. They lost Murphy and thought he might be there. Their car pulls up to the gate and they all get out of the truck.
Dry, brown grass covers the ground with white tents scattering the area in rows.
"You guys harvesters here for the cure?" A man asks
"Yeah, that's right," Warren says
"You're armed."
"Uh, yeah," Addy says stating the obvious
"Good."
A man opens the gate and lets them in.
"Harvesters wait in the garage until you're called. The others inside will give you the rundown." The man says as they walk through the gate
"You think Murphy's here?" Addy asks
"Yeah, he's here. I can smell him." Warren answers
"I think you're smelling the Z weed," Doc says as he watches people load cases of it into a red van.
"Help me! Get it off!" A woman yells as she struggles to escape vines.
Ace is the first to take off running. She tries shooting the zombie in the head but it doesn't work. She takes her the woman's weapon and starts hacking at the vines as everyone else tries to get her out. She then uses the weapon to smash the zombies head in.
A vine grabs Aces leg and tugs. She falls to the ground.
Everyone rushes over and starts pulling her away. 10k takes his knife and cuts her free.
He pulls her up from the ground and to his chest. Ace's breathing is jagged and heavy. She takes deep breaths and stays close to 10k.
"Hey! Told you guys to move into the garage where it's safe." The man that let them in scolds
"Safety first, huh?" Doc asks rudely
"You got a problem?"
"No. No, brother. Just here for the cure." Doc says sarcastically
10k helps the woman they saved walk to her garage.
Inside the garage lays a young blonde girl on a mattress sound asleep. As they help her into the garage the girl wakes up. They set the woman down on the mattes next to the girl.
"You all right?" Ace asks crouching down to her height
"Yeah, I think so."
Doc pulls a pad out of his medical bag and opens it. Warren gives Doc a 'really.' look and Doc pushes the pad against the scratch on her leg.
"Mama?" The girl mumbles
"Hey, baby. Hey. Mama's here. I came back to you just like I promised."
"Did you find it?" The girl asks with hope in her eyes
"Not yet sweetie. But we're getting close. Okay. Lay down." The Mom says
Ace walks over to 10k.
"You okay?" He asks her
"Yeah." She smiles up at him.
