End Times

The group stands in front of the run-down restaurant. Warren and Vasquez went ahead of the group to make sure it was safe. They stand just outside the tree line.

"What is taking so long?" Murphy asks

"I hope it's not another top secret underground lab. That last elevator made me nauseous for a week." Doc says as he watches the building

"Whatever it is, I just want to get it over with," Murphy complains as he crosses his arms

"Got that right," 10k says not taking his eyes off of the building

Ace turns around and tosses Murphy the hat. He pulls it on his head in frustration.

Warren opens the door to the restaurant.

"Here she comes," 10k tells everyone

She flags everyone inside. Ace walks alongside Murphy.

"How do I look?" Murphy asks as he tosses his scarf over his shoulder.

Ace starts laughing lightly as they walk towards the building.

"Fabulous." Ace says sarcastically she shakes her head as she laughs again. "I gotta say, I kinda like the new you."

"You don't want to meet the new me," Murphy says as he extends a Japanese hand fan.

Ace shakes her head again and laughs.

She goes in before Murphy and he follows behind her.

"So is this a real working restaurant?" Doc asks

Ace looks around cautiously.

"Well except for Black Summer, we've been in continuous operation since 1967." An old woman behind the counter says. "We've had a limited menu at times. But...where you folks from?" She asks as she brings out a tray of tea

"New York," Warren says

Ace points Murphy over to a table a little bit away from the group. She walks over towards 10k. They stay close to each other in case anything happens.

"New York?" The lady questions. "I didn't know anybody could still be from New York."

"Upstate. The city's gone 100% Z." Ace says as she takes a cup.

10k gives her a funny look and Ace smiles back at him as she takes a sip.

"Ugh. Long drive. What was it like out there?" The lady asks

"Nothing but Z's and those soon to become z's," Doc says as he takes a cup himself

"Wasn't there anybody safe? Anywhere?" The lady asks as she looks around at the group

"There are. Few and far between." Warren says as she places her cup down

"So what does bring you to California?" She asks

Car tires start to roll up to the restaurant. Ace gets up and takes out her ar14. 10k stands in front of her.

"Bounty hunters," Vasquez says

"Busy day." The lady jokes as she takes the tray behind the counter.

Ace motions for Murphy to pull the scarf over his mouth. He does so and Ace pulls her bandana over her mouth.

The door flies open and light fills the room. In walks four heavily set men and another person with a bag over their head and chains wrapped around their hands. They all sit at a table and place their guns down.

"Can I get you boys' some tea?" The lady asks them

"Got any brown liquor?" A man with long hair asks
