The Meet up

Caleb's POV
As I walk home I think 'Mermaids are real, and they understand us.'
I walk inside the house, my daughter Ivy comes running from her room.
"You're home! Did you find anything down in the ocean!?" She asks enthusiastically,
"I did, I found a boy in the ocean, he's very nice" I say
"stop lieing!"
"I'm not lieing I met a mermaid only a boy. He has blue hair and a blue tail and ears. I'm going back tomorrow to see him." I say to her
"Okay! Maybe one day I'll be able to meet him?"
"I'll ask him if he'd mind if you came along with me, now did you eat?"
"Nope I've been waiting for you"
I laugh and sit down at the table,
"Well I'm here now. Go ahead and eat" I say

~ a few hours later ~
After I read to Ivy. I go to my room and lie in bed, waiting for sleep to come.
I sigh and close my eyes and wonder what tomorrow will be like. And I drift off to sleep.

I wake up around 6:30 , and make all the meals for the day, I pack up my lunch and walk into Ivy's room and say goodbye to my half asleep 6 year old daughter. And set off for the docks.

I arrive at a little inlit of rocks that jut out of the water, I wait for a little while.
Lock sticks his head out of the water and pulls himself out of the water onto the rocks next to me,
"Wow it's really cold out here." He says,
"Yeah that's early morning for you." I say
I look at him. He's shivering, not use to cold air and only use to the water.
"Hm?" He looks at me,
" you can go back into the water until it's not as cold here."
"No I'm fine, I want to be up here with you." He says
I can feel my face getting hot as he says that,
"I can give you my jacket if it helps you stay warm. Note, it will take all the water off your skin."
"Jacket?" He says in a confused voice
"Yeah, Jacket, it's a thing that humans use to keep warm. Here take it" I say as I put the jacket on his shoulders.

He puts his 'Jacket' on my shoulders I'm not sure what to do, with it I just let it rest there.
" you pull it around yourself to keep warm " He says
I grab the two long things that are on either side and pull them around myself,
He laughs.
"That's one way of doing it I guess"
I look at him, "How exactly am I supposed to do it then?" I ask
He takes the jacket and puts his arms in the arm holes "like this"
He takes the jacket off and hands it to me.
I put it on the way he showed me "are you warmer now?" He asks
"Yeah" I smile at him

After a while he speaks "Hey Lock? Would you mind if I bring my daughter along with me tomorrow?" He asks
"You're married?"
"No. My daughter's mother left me and her about 4 years ago." He says
"Anyway would you mind if I brought my daughter tomorrow?" He asks me again
"No I wouldn't mind, I want to meet her"
"Okay, She's coming with me tomorrow them!"
