Walking

Keykey's POV

Lock sighs, staring back at the land.
I watch as he pulls his legs up to his chest.
"Why did you have to do this...?" He asks
"Because I want you to be happy. I already told you."
"But why'd you think this would make me happy..?"
"Because I knew you had feelings for him. I knew that after you kept on seeing him after you met him.."
"I only just realized my feelings key.. how could you know about my feelings I didn't even know I had."
"The way you talked about him. That's how I knew.."
"Oh.."
I smile slightly, clutching the small lock hanging around my neck.
"You know.. I had a conversation with Caleb when we met Ivy. You know how we both disappeared for a little bit..?"
"Yeah.. what did you two talk about?"
"I asked him if he loved you.. and if he wanted to kiss you.. he said he loved you.."
Lock smiles a little, "That's not surprising.." He says looking at me.
We're silent for a long time until Caleb comes back.

Caleb's POV

I hand the bags of clothes to Lock and Key.
Key seems to know how clothes work unlike Lock, who, tries to put the shirt I got him on his legs.
"Want some help?" I ask
"Please"
I laugh as I watch him struggle with the shirt.
"Put your arms up." I say
He does what I tell him to do.
I put the shirt onto his arms
"You pull your head through the larger hole in the shirt."

Eventually lock figures out how clothes work. Keykey on the other hand somehow knew how clothes worked.
"Lock, how dumb can you be?" She asks, sarcasm in her voice.
"Shut up key, at least I don't have the intelligence of a shrimp. Unlike you." Lock says angrily,
I frown.
"Could you two stop quarreling for at least two minutes please!" I snap
"You two are stuck together until key's potion wears off so the least you could do is tolerate each other!"

Lock and Keykey stare at me, then at each other. Lock sighs,
"Alright."
Key grins "I should keep you around Caleb. Lock only seems to listen to you." She says
Lock throws a pebble at Keykey, hitting her on the forehead.
"Oi! Lock what was that for?"
"That comment. That's what." He says.
I sigh,
"Key, do you know how to stand up yet?" I ask
"No" she replies.
I walk over to her and give her a hand up.
She's standing.
"Try walking to me" I say
She moves one foot forward, then the other. She's wobbly but she's walking.
I look over at lock, his eyes are wide.
"Your turn Lock." I say grinning
"Oh no.."
I grab his hands and pull him up.
To my surprise he's really short compared to when he had his tail.
I let go of his hands to try to get him to stand on his own.
He falls forward, into me.
"Try to find your center of balance, it's like riding a bike." I say
"What's a bike?" He asks.
"Uhh.. just forget about it.."

It takes a long time to get Lock to stand up and walk. But, eventually, he walks.
I help them get into the machine and we set off toward land.

~Years earlier/ key's memory~
(R: Rowan, A: Anniku, M: Miren[Meer-in or Meer-ren])

"Yo! Anniku! I found something!!" Miren exclaims
"What is it?" Anniku responds, running over to Miren, Rowan following speedily behind.
"It's a cave! And it seems to be unstable!"
A: "Then why the heck are you shouting if you're inside of the stupid cave?!" Anniku exclaims, confused
M: "Because I can."
A: "Don't shout if it could kill you"
R: "Anniku the only thing that could kill her is exercising."
M: "That's the truth"

Anniku and Rowan walk into the cave.

"Hi there!" A voice says cheerfully,
"Gah!" Anniku yells
"Who are you?" The voice asks
M: "We're three girls trying to explore this cave. And you are?"
"I'm Keykey! And I'm a mermaid!" Keykey says.
Anniku stares at keykey, plotting something.
"Keykey, are there any other mermaids like you?" She asks.
"Yeah there are many! Some are coming over later this week for my brother's birthday!" Key says happily.
"Maybe I could meet your parents on your brother's birthday?" Anniku asks.
"Yeah!! Come back here on the 21st! I'll get my parents to meet you!!" Key giggles.
"Okay"
As Anniku, Rowan and Miren leave Anniku laughs her evil laugh.
"Your going to take her parents aren't you." Rowan says rolling her eyes. Expecting yes for an answer.
"Yes.." Anniku says laughing again.
"This is be the best Christmas present I've ever gotten myself!" Anniku says as she, Rowan, and Miren walk home.
