Rise and shine, Upper East Siders. It's officially fall and when the leaves start to turn, we know it's time for B's birthday. We hope Serena will be there to celebrate, but we hear she's having her own private party with a professor.
-Gossip Girl
At the Waldorf's, Blair and I have just finished sealing all of the birthday invitations for Blair's party tomorrow. With my tongue parched and a few paper cuts on my fingers, I sigh in relief and Dorota hands me a cup of ice tea."Dorota, you are a saint." I say and she smiles in return.
"So tell me again why you and Chuck are starting up world war 3." I say to Blair who rolls her eyes. "I'm quite positive that saying he's Chuck Bass sums it up." She responds subsequent to an eye roll.
Chuck and Blair have been at each other's throats lately. When those two argue, it's a frightening situation. Meanwhile, Blair has filled me in on Serena's drama. She has a crush on her college professor who has mutual feelings. I already know that won't end well and I'm not the only one who thinks it.
"You're in relation to that devious Bass, what has he in store?" Blair inquires.
"Actually, Chuck and I have been polarized lately. He finally took back his fair share of the Empire and is pulling the strings again but we have equal ownership now. If I don't like one of his business proposals I can veto it." I say
"Interesting." Blair says with a smirk
"I'm not going to manipulate him for your sake." I say
"I wasn't thinking that." She remarks but I see right through her lies.
I continue to sip on Dorota's refreshing tea just as Eleanor Waldorf enters the penthouse. "Mother!" Blair exclaims and approaches Eleanor.
They embrace then speak among themselves until I approach the two. "Lena, darling, how are you?" Eleanor asks as she gives me a hug.
"Great, thank you. How's Paris?" I respond
"Beautiful as always, I saw your mother a couple days ago. She was with her fiancé." Eleanor says.
"She told me the last time we spoke, she adores Paris." I say
"Who wouldn't." Eleanor chuckles.
After small talk, I excused myself and left so Blair and her mother can spend some time together.
Blair had me thinking since that they are at odds that maybe Chuck could use someone to oversee his actions and problems. I should try, if he allows me too. On my way to the Empire, Nate messages me to inform me that he and Serena are going to force Blair and Chuck into a treaty before their war gets ugly so he want's me to bring Chuck to the meeting. I couldn't agree anymore, Chuck and Blair in the midst of war is like bring Hitler and Stalin together.
I enter the Empire and head towards the elevator. I pause as I see Chuck in the lounge area, he's not alone though. I approach the room and Logan comes into view, the two are engaged in a conversation and a rather serious one. I stay hidden as I try to eavesdrop but I can't without being seen. All I can hear are the faint mutters.
Curiosity springs upon me, what could possibly those two be talking about in that manner? Yet alone, speaking at all. I leave when I see that the conversation begins to come to an end. I enter the elevator and go up the office where I wait for Chuck.
When he arrives, he seems normal and serious as always.
"I didn't know you were coming in today." He says as he heads to his desk, he avoids eye contact at all cost.
