Pov Jason
I laid awake at night and was restless during the day. I couldn't get myself calm for the rest of the weekend. I just needed to talk to Nathan so my head wouldn't feel like exploding all the time. I just couldn't figure it out! Nothing made any sense right now! How could I ever concentrate on something when Nate was the only thing on my mind?I sighed and looked at my clock. I had a few more minutes before I needed to get up but I couldn't take it anymore. I got dressed quicker than I normally do and almost jumped down the stairs for breakfast. Max wasn't even awake right now so it was absolutely quiet in the house. I ate my cornflakes pretty quickly and got ready. I was ten minutes early but I didn't care.
"You're heading out early" mom stated.
"Oh uhm, just wanting to get my brain educated again after the weekend" I said quickly and took my jacket.
"Oh, is that so?" she asked laughing a bit. I rolled my eyes and got my bag before leaving the house. The snow was gone so we could ride with our bikes to school. I took mine from the garage and went over to Nate's house.I sighed as I walked up to the front door. I just stood there, unable to ring the bell. I didn't had an answer for him but we needed to talk. I couldn't bare this any longer. So I rang the bell. At first it looked like nobody was gonna answer it but then a tall man opened up. Probably Nate's dad. I hadn't really seen him.
"Hello sir" I smiled.
"I'm here to get Nathan, we ride to school together""Oh really? He hasn't said anything about you" the man said.
"H-he hasn't?" I asked confused and saw Nate standing on the stairs.
"It's okay dad, let him in" he said and went back up. To get dressed probably.
"Alright, get in" he said and opened up the door for me.
"Thanks" I smiled."So what's your name?" his dad asked.
"Jason" I said.
"Uhm Anderson, Jason Anderson, we just moved here. To 21 to be exact"
"Ah, the new guys of the neighborhood" he laughed and punched me on my back. I coughed a little. This man is strong...
"Y-yeah" I said and scratched my neck.
"So uhm, Nate really didn't say anything about me? At all?""Nope, but he hardly talks about anything so don't take it personal" he said and waved it off.
"O-okay" I sighed and saw Nate coming off the stairs.
"You're early" he said without making eye contact.
"Yeah I thought we could talk, you know, before school?" I suggested.
"S-sure..." he muttered and walked back up the stairs.I followed him under the awkward stare of his father, not really sure what to think of this. I tried to ignore it until we were in Nate's room and he shut the door behind us.
"Make it quick, please" he said nervous.
"It's about our kiss, but I guess you already knew that" I started.
"D-do you like me? Are you in love with me?"
He avoided my gaze and nodded."Y-you?" he asked quietly.
"Honestly? I have no idea" I admitted.
"I thought about you all weekend and I just can't decide what you mean to me... A friend o-or more... That's why I've been wanting to ask you something"
He looked up with fear in his eyes. He looked so scared and weak... I didn't like seeing him like this. Not at all."Nathan Wheeler" I started.
"Do you want to go out with me?"
"W-what?" he asked with big eyes.
"A-as in a-a date?"
"Yes, as in a date" I said and looked at him.
"What do you say? You, me, a good movie, some popcorn... Could be fun right?"I took his hands and made him look at me. He bit his lip and gazed at me for a while. I started to feel slightly nervous when he didn't answer. He liked me, right? Why was he hesitating?
"C-can I think about this?" Nate asked with a shaky voice.
"S-sure" I said a bit confused and let go of his hands."Let's get going or we're gonna be late"
"Late?" he asked.
"For school" I clarified.
"Oh, uhm, of course" he sighed and took his bag.
"Let's go"Pov Nathan
"Hi"
I looked up and saw Jace. Normally he would sit with Emily and her friends. Strange... Was it because of what happend this morning? Because I still couldn't quite figure out what his plan was. Was this some kind of joke? Did he tell Emily and did she put him up to this? Jace sat down when I didn't react and smiled."So, decided yet?" he asked and took his lunch.
"Not really" I sighed without looking at him.
"Decided what?" Simon asked as he joined us. How could he just sit here? Did he already forgot what happend this weekend? Our fight? The things he said? Because I didn't. And I don't think I will for the next couple of days.
"We talked about, you know" Jace started."Oh" Sim said and looked a few times from me to Jace and back.
"So uhm, care to share?"
I knew he was looking at me but I kept quiet. Then I saw Jason whispering something in his ear and I could already guess what.
"What? No way!" Simon smiled and looked at me.
"Dude, you said yes, right?""Why do you care so much now?" I said and looked at him.
"Wasn't I useless?"
He almost choked in his food and Jace looked confused at me.
"You know I didn't mean that Nate" Simon said.
"Come on dude, you're my best friend. I was angry, I didn't mean it... Ugh, you can be so sensetive sometimes..."He muttered the last part but I heard it and I could tell Jace heard it to.
"Yeah... It makes him really cute though" Jason added and smiled. I blushed and Sim almost choked, again. He started laughing and ate on. Why was this all just one big joke to him?
"What? It's true, you know" he said with a more serious tone."So, have you considered my offer?"
"I-I already told you" I said.
"Okay, but I want an answer. Today" he said looking me dead in the eyes.
"I'll see ya later, gotta go"
Jace stood up and walked over to Ella, one of Emily's friends. Of course... Because why would he sit with us losers of he could join the popy table?
