Pov Jason
Nate and I hung out all weekend. Luckily we didn't have that much homework to do and my father still thought of us as good friends. My mom on the other hand... Well, I had to tell her how my date went, about the fact Nate and I were a couple now. She was happy for me I guess, not that I could tell the emotion she was feeling when we talked about it. It was always forced and she would stay neutral. I start to think the only reason she is keeping me safe is because she can't bare to lose both her sons.I sighed while I took my bicycle from the garage. At least she was protecting me, right? I rode over to Nate's house and rang the bell. No response. Strange. I started spamming the doorbell until someone opened.
"What?!" Angela hissed.
"Oh, uhm, I-I'm here to pick up Nate" I said quietly, a little bit scared of her.
"How dare you" she hissed and took me by my collar."Don't you have any respect for my brother?! You just used him you piece of dirt!"
I looked at her in shock, not knowing what I had done wrong or what she was yelling about.
"A-Angela... I-I really like Nathan" I started but she didn't let me finish.
"Lyer!" she hissed and slammed the door shut in my face. What did I do wrong..? I just didn't understand...I looked over at Nate's window and saw the curtains close. So I guess he isn't coming to school then... I got back on my bike and rode to school alone, thinking about what it could be. What I did wrong, what could've happened to Nate that he didn't tell me. But when I arrived at the concrete prison that calls itself educational I already knew. I knew it from the moment I saw Emily talking to Peter. They had done something...
Simon came storming towards me, throwing a punch at me. I dodged it just on time and was shocked when I saw all the hate and anger in his eyes.
"For just one second... One second I believed you!" he yelled while tears were forming in his eyes.
"I fucking believed you, you piece of shit!"
I stepped back when he tried pushing me. What was happening here?! I wanted to understand!"S-Sim, please, let me explain" I tried but he wasn't really in the mood to listen to me right now.
"Just shut up you dickhead" he hissed and walked away. I saw a lot of people staring at me. I just sighed and started looking for people who did want to talk to me. When I looked over at Sander and André they just looked away. Guilt. They knew what was going on, didn't they? Then I looked over to Peter. He was alone...He was never really alone. But none the less I walked over to him. We didn't speak, we just stared at each other. Sometimes silence said more than an entire conversation. He sighed and took a paper from his bag. Peter wrote something down and pushed it into my hand.
"Just... Please" he whispered and walked away from me. I unfolded the paper and started to read. You wanna know what happend right? Meet me behind the school at lunch. I know you don't trust me, but I'll explain everything. I promise.
Promise... From what I've heard Peter never broke a promise... I sighed and stuffed the paper away in my pocket. What did I have to lose?...
The schoolbell rang. Lunch. Time to meet Peter... I wonder if I can really trust him. I mean, he promised, but still... When I arrived at the back of the school I saw him sitting all alone on the one bench that stood here.
"Let's get this over with" I sighed and dropped my bag next to him on the bench.
"What's going on?"
He didn't react immediately but just stared at the wall that surrounded the school."Do you know why I bully Nathan?" he asked without looking at me.
"Because you're a jerk and an asshole?" I stated and crossed my arms.
"Oh haha" he said with a sarcastic voice and rolled his eyes.
"Just... Just sit okay? I'm gonna tell you something I haven't told anyone ever before"
"Oookaaaay..." I said slowly and sat down beside him."I-I'm jealous of Nathan okay?" he stated and looked at the ground.
"I-I pick on him because I'm jealous... And when I found out that you two were... I'm just so mad at you two!"
"W-what are you saying?" I asked, taken aback.
"I'm gay, Jace" he whispered with tears in his eyes."B-but my family doesn't accept it... Every time I want to come out they just push me back in... It's why I've always been jealous of Nathan... He was accepted in his family and it made me so angry he could have that and I didn't"
"So you made his life miserable" I concluded.
"When I found out that you and Nate are dating I-I... I was so mad, I told Emily" he continued."Bad idea" I sighed.
"Very bad idea" he sighed.
"She spread a photo around... Wait, I think I still have it here somewhere"
He started searching on his phone and gave it to me. It was a photo of Nate and I kissing in the park after our date. I thought we were alone..."She told everyone he kissed you" Peter said.
"That he forced it on you and you didn't want it. That you punched him and you guys had a fight, that you aren't even friends anymore because he likes you"
On the photo it seemed like Nate pulled me towards him and I was pushing him away. A convincing story, made to tear us apart. I clenched my fists and gave the phone back to Peter."That bitch!" I hissed and took my bag.
"Hey, hey, hey, where are you going?" Peter asked and stood up.
"I'm gonna slap that whore in the face that's what I'm gonna do" I hissed but he stopped me.
"Since you hit me the headmaster has introduced a strong anti bully policy. You can't just go and hit her, if a teacher sees you you'll get suspended""Which means I need a sneakier plan to get my revenge" I muttered, thinking.
"If you ever need me to do anything for you or Nate, don't hesitate to ask" Peter said and smiled weakly.
"I would like to make it up to you guys for everything I've done... I really hope you can make it up with him"
"Thanks, I do to"
