Pov Jason
"Oh hello Ella" I smiled and she turned my way.
"Hi Jace, came to sit with us?"
"Yeah, and I wanted to say I really enjoyed your party" I said.
"You've got a nice place"
"Oh, uh, thanks" she smiled and blushed a little bit.
"Nobody really talks about it afterwards...""Why? Because half of them don't remember?" I joked and she laughed.
"You're a funny guy Jace... Come on, the others are waiting"
We walked towards Sander and André. No sign of Emily. Weird.
"Hey, the Jacester is here" André laughed and punched my shoulder.
"You know how to party, I like it"I laughed and rolled my eyes.
"Actually I'm not really into that kind of stuff" I said and looked at Ella.
"Where is Emily? Isn't she at school today?"
"Haven't heard of here all weekend" Sander said.
"Must be a hell of a hangover"
The guys laughed but I wasn't so convinced."Hey, you shouldn't worry, she does this often" Ella said to me.
"Yeah, but she's not the only one on my mind right now" I sighed and stared at Nate from a distance.
"Oh I see" she said.
"You're worried about Wheeler, aren't you?"
"Kind of..." I sighed."It's a bit more complicated than that"
"If you describe Peter as complicated than yes" she muttered.
"But Peter ain't at school today either so..."
"Wait what?" I asked confused.
"He isn't here?"
"Nope" she said and started eating. Strange......
"Hey! Wait for me!"
I stopped Nathan from leaving with his bike and smiled.
"Thought we would ride home together? Why didn't you wait?"
"Oh uhm... Guess I forgot..."
"You forgot?" I asked and laughed a bit.
"Or are you just avoiding me?"
Silence."Was my question a bit to much?" I asked.
"It was, wasn't it?"
"N-No, no, I just... I didn't expect it" Nate sighed and looked at the ground.
"Is this some kind of sick prank or something?"
"What?!" I exclaimed flabbergasted.
"Why would I ever do something like that to you?! Why would you even think that?!"He shrunk a little and stared at the ground. I realised how I just sounded and calmed down. I slowly took Nate's hand and made him look at me.
"We don't have to do this Nathan. If you don't want to, I won't hold it against you. It's just that I thought you would like it and it would give me the opportunity to figure out what you mean to me""R-really?" he asked carefully.
"Really" I said dead serious. He just looked me in the eyes and seemed to get lost.
"Let's go to my place" he whispered and got on his bike. Okay, not what I was expecting...
"Come on, Angela doesn't want me home late"...
Our way home was quiet and the first thing that was said was Nathan directing me where to put my bike. After that we went inside.
"Angela! I'm home!" he yelled while Chrissy ran towards us.
"Down girl" I laughed and pushed her away. Angela came into the hallway, talking about dinner or something, and stopped when she saw me."Oh, hi" she said and looked at her brother.
"Is this the guy?"
"We're going upstairs" Nate stated.
"Oh, alright" she smiled and winked at us.
"I'll leave you two alone then"
I saw Nathan turning red and he pulled me upstairs.
"What was that all about?" I asked while entering his room. He shut the door and sighed."I-I told her about you this weekend" he muttered.
"About our kiss and stuff... We've always been really close since our mom passed away..."
"Oh..." I brought out. It reminded me of my bond with Jack. One that was no more...
"So uhm... Do you wanna go on a date with me or..?"I was interrupted when he placed his lips on mine. We melted together and I just let it happen. He slowly pulled away and looked me in the eyes.
"I'd love to..." he whispered.
"Alright, I'll take care of everything. You just pick a movie from the local cinema" I smiled.
"Okay..." he sighed.
"So uhm, are you gonna stay or go home?"
I grinned as I wrapped my arms around him.
"I think I'll stay if you don't mind..."...
I walked back home and looked up at the sky. Almost nightfall... I sighed and smiled, not caring whether my parents would be mad or not. Nate and I had a really great day and nobody was gonna change my mood. I was starting to think I was falling for him... So I'm glad he agreed on our date this weekend. I opened my front door and Max enthusiastically ran over to me.
"Hey bud, I'm glad to see you to" I laughed.
"You're home late" my dad said from the living room.
"I did some homework with Nathan" I said as I walked towards him.
"You know, because of my backlog at school"
Switching schools in the middle of the year wasn't the best thing in the world. It would create a backlog between me and the others. Because of the fact I was new and everything..."I texted mom about it, she said it was fine" I added.
"Still. You're late" he said stuborn and I rolled my eyes.
"It won't happen again" I sighed and went to the kitchen.
"Where's mom actually?"
"To the shop, she forgot something" dad said, his eyes focussed on the screen. I rolled my eyes. Typical."Oh, before I forget, I'm going to hang out with Nate this weekend" I said quickly.
"We're gonna watch a movie, nothing special"
"Okay" he said, not really interested. I walked upstairs and laid down on my bed. I sighed and smiled. I was really looking forward to my date with Nate... Maybe even more than I'd like to admit... I took my notebook from the little cabin beside me and started to write.Dear Jack
It is at times like these I miss you the most. Not the dark times, but the good one's. The happy times I will no longer be able to share with you... As you might know I've grown closer to Nathan. When I asked him out this morning, I wasn't sure about my feelings towards him. But now I know and I'm so glad he said yes... It's been so long since I've had this feeling... It's so strange and yet...so amazing... You know I never had a thing with words. I can't describe things like you could. Like you could talk about the stars at night or nature during the day... It would never bore me. But I guess you know what I feel without me telling you. You always did, sometimes even better than me... And I know I'm not gonna let this love slip like I let my first one slip. I never forgave myself for that... No. I will work for my relationship with Nate. If only you would be here to help me...
Love
Jace
