Things were slowly getting back to normal. Jason could accept Peter's presence at our table during lunch now but he still wasn't allowed to say anything to either him or me. Guess it'll take a while before they can be friends again... Other than that everything is going great. Jace and I were happily together and nothing could stand in our way. Well, that was until now... I got a call from Jason. Expecting it to be a I-love-you-and-just-wanna-hear-your-voice call, I clicked the green phone without really paying a lot of attention to it.
"Nathan, I fucked up"
His voice was full of fear and sadness. Something bad happend...
"What?" I asked confused.
"I fucked up" he cried.
"I-I really fucked up and I'm so so so sorry... I didn't mean to do it, I swear! I never wanted to I-I just... H-he got caught up a-and I don't know what to do! I'm so so sorry..."
"Wowowow, Jason calm down. What happend?" I asked.
"I-I was going to that new horror movie with A-André a-and when w-we left t-they were there" he sobbed and I could hear noises in the background.
"T-they found m-me..."
"Who found you? What happend?" I asked.
"My fathers enemies... T-they're here" he whispered and his voice cracked. No... That couldn't be... No! That was impossible!
"I-I tried to fight t-them off-f b-but A-André..."
He broke off his sentence and started crying again. André got hurt. Or worse. I started panicking. What the hell was I supposed to do?!
"W-where are you?" I asked.
"I-I ran to the woods to shake them off" he said.
"A-André is w-with me b-but he got shot... H-he's bleeding Nathan! I-I don't know what to do!"Pov Jason
"Okay, calm down. Are you near the training ground?" Nate asked. He was being so damn stressed he was actually calm. I looked down at André, who had no idea what was going on.
"I-it's gonna be okay buddy" I whispered and forced a smile.
"J-just stay with me okay? You're gonna be fine"
"J-Jace... W-who w-were t-th-ose..?" he managed to say.
"Yes, I'm like a minute away. Why?" I answered to Nathan and put him on speaker.
"Okay, here's what you have to do" Nate said.
"You go there, get a knife, that bottle of alcohol we left last week, a piece of cloth and a lighter. Got it?"
"I'm on my way but I'll leave you here with André so you can keep talking to him" I said and placed my phone next to André's head.
"Keep the pressure on buddy, everything is gonna be fine""Okay, Nate, I'm back" I said and placed the stuff down. I let my fingers go down to André's neck, searching for his vein. His heartbeat was steady but very low. I needed to act quickly. The run had calmed me down a bit and I knew I needed to stay focussed.
"Okay, good, uhm, where did he got shot?"
"His leg" I said.
"Remove his pants" Nate ordered.
"Do what now?" I asked.
"Jason Anderson, this is the first and last time I'm gonna tell you to get another guys pants off as fast as possible" he hissed through the phone.
"Just do it!"
"Okay, okay! I'm on it!" I said and messed around with the buttons on André's pants.
"W-wha?" he asked and opened his eyes a little bit.
"It's okay André, it's me, Jace" I said while pulling his pants down.
"I'm gonna help you, don't worry"
"Is it down?" Nate asked.
"Yeah, it's down, the wound is clear" I said while applying pressure.
"So now you need to clean the knife with the alcohol and put some on the wound as well with the cloth" Nate instructed.
"It'll sting, just so you're prepared"
"Okay" I sighed and poured some liquid on the cloth before carefully pressing it on the wound. André hissed in pain but I tried to ignore it, cleaning the wound. I put the liquid all over the knife and sighed.
"It's done"
"Okay, this is the difficult part" Nate said.
"You need to get the bullet out of his leg so it won't get infected. Be careful not to damage him more than he already is"
"Getting a bullet out of a leg with a throwing knife" I muttered to myself.
"Of course, most normal thing in the world..."
I carefully started to make the hole a bit bigger, giving me more operating space. André yelled in pain and I quickly put the cloth in his mouth. He bit down on it as I dug deeper in his leg, trying to find the bullet. Once I had it, I pulled it out and it landed somewhere on the ground.
"It's out. I did it" I gasped, putting pressure once again.
"What now?"
"Heat up the sword with the lighter until it's really really hot" Nathan instructed.
"I know it's made of a good conductor since I almost burned my hand picking it up when you left it in the sun"
"What am I supposed to do with a flaming hot knife?" I asked confused as I started heating it up.
"You're gonna burn the wound shut. The skin will melt together in a way so it'll stop the bleeding until real help gets there"
André's eyes widened in fear and he started to move.
"N-no, no, no, don't move" I hissed and held him down the best I could while heating the knife.
"He'll probably pass out from the pain anyway" Nathan stated on the other side of the line.
"You're the one that thinks I'm crazy for defending myself but do I even want to know how you know this stuff?" I asked, reality slowly getting to me.
"First off all, you defend yourself with death as a consequence" he stated.
"And to answer your question, I watch a lot of hospital drama series. What am I even saying? I'm practically a doctor"
"Are you fucking kidding me?" I hissed.
"I'm patching up our shot friend with your knowledge on Grey's Anatomy and Saving Hope?!"
"Is it working or is it working?!" he shouted back.
"And get on with that knife! You need to bind that cloth around his leg after you're done and you cleaned it with the rest of the alcohol. Why am I so happy that we bought fucking vodka?"
"You wanted to buy it" I said as I saw the metal getting red.
"Okay, I'm gonna burn it"
I looked and André and bit my lip, screaming sorry with my eyes before putting the knife on his wound, burning it shut. As Nathan predicted he passed out after screaming every living thing away. I took the cloth from his mouth and cleaned it with the vodka. I poured the last bit on the wound and started wrapping him up, making sure it was tight but not to tight.
"Should I get the pants back on or..?"
"No, it could open the wound" Nate said.
"Just wait until they find you"
"Wait what? Who's coming?" I asked with big eyes.
"The shootings are all over the news Jace. I'm watching it now" he explained.
"The police is searching everywhere but all they found so far are dead bodies"
"So it was lethal..." I muttered.
"What?!"
"What?" I asked.
"Y-you..."
"I told you I fucked up okay! And André saw! And then he got shot a-and I'm absolutely the worst person ever!"
"Hey, calm down, I'm sure it'll be just fine" Nathan said. I heard footsteps approaching and took the knife, ready to attack if necessary.
"Found two!" an officer shouted and walked over to us.
"Wait, you're the kid that got abused by his dad, right? Nathan's boyfriend?" he asked and I nodded.
"S-should I know you?" I asked.
"Nick?!" Nathan yelled through the phone. I picked it up quickly and Nick nodded.
"Yeah, it's me. Hey, nice to meet you, I'm Angela's boyfriend"
"I-I'm Jason" I stuttered and looked back at André.
"H-he was shot and I didn't know what to do so I hid and tried to patch him up..."
"Someone get and ambulance!" Nick called and signalled his colleagues.
"Thanks Nate" was the last thing I said before disconnecting.
