I opened my eyes to see complete darkness. I was in a small dark room. I looked around when my eyes adjusted and I was in a room made out of cement blocks. I was in the center of the room hanging by my wrists. I looked up and I was shackled to the ceiling by chains.

Blood was running down my hands from where the shackles were digging into my skin. Every time I moved I ached in pain.

I looked down and I was dangling a good fifteen feet up in the air. On the ground in the corner was a table. There was a knife and crowbar on it as well.

How the fuck am I getting down?

The shackles were already pretty loose on me, but my hands aren't small enough to squeeze through. Even if I dropped I'm going to break something.

"Where the hell is it!", someone screamed to my right. I looked, but there was no one.

"I don-I don't know!", someone else screamed.

It was Lucas. He is next to me in another room. I wanted to cry out his name, but it would be foolish. I kept my mouth shut.

I need to get out of here! Think Lupa think! I got it! When I transform, I become the size of an average American wolf, and I'm pretty sure paws are smaller then hands. But, if they're not. This is just going to hurt more like hell.

I don't care, I'm getting out of here. I thought of my wolf and it worked. I was suspended for another minute or so. But, I started slipping. Then I felt nothing. It almost felt like I was flying? But, that image quickly faded when my side met the ground.

I hit the ground with a thud, and it knocked the wind out of me. I gasped for air as I turned on my side. I shook it off, and slowly got up. My body ached even more. I stood up, and I felt extreme pain in my left side where I landed. Every step I took to get to the door, pain shot up the left side of my body. But, I kept pressing.

I walked over to the table, and took the knife and crowbar. I stuck the knife in my back pocket and grabbed the crowbar in my right hand. The door was surprising unlocked so I opened and peered around the corner. Nobody was there, but screaming and yelling was still coming from the room Lucas is in.

I opened the door to the room and Lucas wasn't as high as I was, but he was still suspended. He was bleeding from his upper lip and cheek bone. Then there was a giant cut along down his right forearm.

"Oh, you took less time to escape then I thought?", said the Mortem.

"Just, let us go.", I said.

"Now, why would I do that?", he said walking closer to me.

"Lupa, just leave me...You're the important one, just g-go", Lucas said in between spitting out blood.

"Aw, you guys are girlfriend and boyfriend? Then, you'll love it when I spill hit blood across the wall won't you Lupa?", the Mortem said inching closer.

"You can't hurt me.", I said inching back as well.

"Maybe I will, maybe I won't? Depends on if you give me what I want?", said the Mortem.

"What do you want?", I said still backing up a little.

"Information. Tell me where I can find the Rerum is?", he asked turning around to face Lucas now.

"That what?", I asked.

"Rerum. The reason why your here. The reason why your parents are dead?", the Mortem said turning back around.

"I don't know what your talking about?", I said. He hit a soft spot on that one. I've never heard anything about Rerum. Obviously it must be important if my parents did die for it. I can only imagine what they did to them before they died. If they are torturing us for answers then they must have done the same to my parents.

He started walking towards me again, with a smile, "If your not going to tell me, force might be a option?"

"Don't touch her!", Lucas spatted out. He remained silent almost the entire time. The Mortem quickly sprung around and smacked Lucas across the face.

"Speak again, and so help me!", the Mortem screamed. He turned back around, "Now where were we?", he started walking towards me again.

I reached back behind me in my back pocket. I wrapped my bloody fingers around the handle and brought it out of my pocket.

"Don't come any closer.", I said putting my free hand out in front of me.

"Why? What's a tiny puny Werewolf going to do to me?", he said.

"This.", I swung the knife around and it sliced him on the throat. He reached up and covered the cut. But, blood had already started flowing out. He collapsed on the ground and tried yelling, but blood had already filled his throat. He died chocking on his own blood.

Once his body went limp, I checked for the keys and found them. I jumped over the Mortem and ran over to Lucas.

He just smiled as I unlocked his shackles. When I undid his last one, he fell down. I wrapped his arm around my shoulder and stood him back up.

"Sorry, everything hurts.", he said wincing.

"I know, I just forget about the pain and push on.", I said half-walking half-dragging Lucas down the hallway.

Every turn I was expecting another one. Waiting to see one which I did once in a while, making me find another way out, but eventually I found the door out of the place. I have no idea where we are, and I have no idea how to get back to school.

I looked to my left and noticed a faint light of the city. Thank god, they didn't take us anywhere far. I looked back around and it was an abandoned building. What looked like used to be a bakery or something, but the front window was broken and it looked like nothing was inside. But, it was more then nothing.

I noticed in the brush to the side f the building was a car, probably what they used to get us here. I laid Lucas down in the back who was half awake and half not. He just moaned.

I've never driven a car before, but it has to be a piece of cake, right? I've seen my parents drive me all over the place. I did what I've seen my parents do. I pulled the gear into drive and pressed the gas pedal. I was slow at first, but once I got onto the road and straightened out, I went zooming for New York.

What the hell was he talking about the Rerum? I have no idea what it is, but it must be important if they are killing off Freaks for it. I don't care, I'm just out of there alive with minimal damage.
