"Serena, get downstairs now! School, remember?" Mom yelled from downstairs.

I stretched my arms out while I yawned. "Morning already?"

I didn't even bother to yell back to Mom. I got out of bed and opened the white door that led into my closet.

Clothes of a variety of colors appeared in front of me, pink and blue. Wait, I worded that wrong, a variety of amazing colors.

I picked out a blue hat with a white strap on the rim. Also, I got a white tank top, and underneath it a blue skirt. To finish off my outfit, I got my grey leggings and my brown boots.

"I said come on Serena!" Mom called.

I swung my door open and dashed down the wooden stairs. When I put my hand on the metal railing I immediately shivered, and I could feel it down my spine. Metal is always cold in the morning, Serena, I thought you knew that already. I then dashed down the rest of the stairs.

"Finally you're down here."

"I'm sorry, I was getting my clothes on, it takes a while to get these outfits all prepared you know!"

"I know that, but you're going to a real school now, Serena. There isn't time anymore."

"I know, I know, you're going to go through one of your lectures about me not being in a school before. What could be so bad about college? Everyone's mad that they skipped it if they didn't go."

"Nothing sweetie, it's just that you'll be with kids your age. I don't want you to have your hopes too high."

"Mom, you remember what I said, right? I'll be okay."

"Of course you're going to be okay! You're going to be filled with opportunities!" Dad yelled, as his voice echoed through the house as he stepped into the kitchen.

"You startled me, honey!" Mom jumped.

"Not me! See, I have better control over my emotions than you do, Mom! I'll be fine!"

"That's the spirit!" Dad cheered, as he ruffled my hair.

"Now I need to brush my hair again," I sighed, as I backed away from Dad. "Actually, I'll just bring the brush with me."

"Sounds good to me, I hope you enjoy school, sugar."

"Don't call me that! It sounds weird. I'm a teenager, not a 40-year-old."

"Please, you know I didn't mean it like that." Dad shrugged, as he went over to the pantry. "Do you want toast or pancakes with bacon?"

"She doesn't have enough time for pancakes and bacon anymore," Mom sighed. "If you wanted to cook her that, then you could've woken up earlier."

"I was going to pick toast anyways, Mom," I said, crossing my arms. Why was she being so negative?

"Alright, one french toast coming up!" Dad called, and he got a piece of bread out of the bag.

"Are you sure you're ready for this, Serena?" Mom asked. "A ton of new people in one place could-"

"I SAID I'M FINE! STOP BEING SO WORRIED ABOUT ME!" I screamed. "I'M SO ANNOYED WITH YOUR-" I stopped.

Why was I yelling at Mom?

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have yelled."

"No, it's fine... I just hope that you don't do that at school.."

"MOM NOW I'M SCREAMING ON PURPOSE! I LITERALLY JUST TOLD YOU TO STOP BEING SO WORRIED ABOUT ME!"

"Okay, okay... fine."

"Bye, Mom! Bye, Dad!" I waved, as I ran outside. "I'll see you at 5!"

"Bye, sweetie! Stay safe!" Mom yelled, and then she closed the door.

I then ran off into the depths of the neighborhood. It was pretty windy, good thing I brought that brush, it's swinging my hair everywhere. Also pretty glad I looked at the weather, I was going to wear a dress, but it's boiling out here! Boiling hot and windy at the same time, a terrible combination.

I looked off in the distance, the big white building that looks like it was made out of quartz, Kanto College, came into view.

"I wonder if the public school is going to be the same as homeschool," I said to myself, and then smiled.

Kanto College was a pretty different college. It was smaller than most, and it's placed in a neighborhood. Since the land is so little, they couldn't fit dorms, so everyone goes back to their houses after school like normal. At least that's what I've been told. I've never been in a school before.

No matter what, it doesn't matter if this place if different. I can't wait to start my adventure, and honestly, my life too.
