I'm sorry that this chapter might be shorter than most of these final ones. This was supposed to be combined with chapter 35, but since Wattpad is super strict with videos, I could only put one in on the last chapter. So, hope you understand!

When I got home, I quickly ran to the bedroom because I was really, really tired.

I got changed super fast, and ran outside.

The Kanto air blew my hair, (haha I rhymed) and I thought of Ash.

I was so glad that all of the ruckus was over. We could finally just be actual teenagers. But that was impossible. We were the odd ones out, and nothing could stop that. Ever.

I like that nickname. It defines me well. It defines our journey well. This isn't a normal universe to live in, a universe that was without Pokémon, but at the same time had them.

I know! I'll surprise Ash!

That's perfect! Of course I'll do that.

I ran down the wooden stairs, and then went outside. That time my spine didn't shiver from the metal. This time I was serious. I wanted us to finally be usual, normal. A normal group of odd one outs.

I rang the doorbell, and Ash's mother opened the door.

"Oh hey, you must be Serena! Ash is upstairs," the woman smiled.

"Mime Mime!"

Looks like her mom had a Mr. Mime Pokémon card.

I chuckled, then nodded. I ran upstairs, and opened the door that had the sign, "Ash's Room", on it.

He had a glass door that led out to his balcony, and it looked like he was out there.

I walked out, and blurted out, "Hey, Ash!"

"Serena, what are you doing out here?" Ash asked.

"Well, here's the prize money," I chuckled, handing him a $250 dollar check.

"Thanks, I'm not even going to cash it in," Ash smiled.

"Why not?"

"I'd rather keep it as a memory artifact," Ash responded, and I nodded in reply.

"I'll do that as well," I said back.

"Alright, I need to put it somewhere. I'll be right back."

"Okay," I smiled, then looked down.

"Hearts beat fast,
Colors and promises.
How to be brave,
How can I love when I'm afraid to fall.

I then saw Ash in his room from the corner of my eye.

"But watching you stand, alone,
All of my doubt, suddenly goes away somehow.

One step, closer."

Ash then walked onto the balcony, and he started singing with me.

- Both -

"I have died everyday waiting for you,
Darling don't be afraid, I have loved you,
For a thousand years.
I'll love you for a thousand more.

- Ash - (Even since it's a GIRL SINGING, he's singing. CHANGE THE VOICE! Lol)

"Time stands still,
Beauty in all she is.
I will be brave,
I will not let anything take away,
What's standing in front of me,
Every breath, every hour has come to this.

- Me -

One step closer.

- Both -

I have died everyday waiting for you,
Darling don't be afraid I have loved you,
For a thousand years.
I'll love you for a thousand more.

And all along I believed I would find you,
Time has brought your heart to me,
I have loved you for a thousand years.
I'll love you for a thousand more.

- Ash -

One step closer

- Me -

One step closer

- Both -

I have died everyday waiting for you,
Darling don't be afraid I have loved you,
For a thousand years.
I'll love you for a thousand more.

And all along I believed I would find you,
Time has brought your heart to me,
I have loved you for a thousand years.
I'll love you for a thousand more."

Under the sunset, we then kissed, letting the golden light and rainbow shine on us. It was the light that would shine on a pathway of good fortune and no evil.

We had a story that was the odd one out...
