"Hey Serena, you brought your cards today, right?" Dawn asked, as she opened the front pocket of her blue glittery backpack.

"Yeah, I don't want to show them yet, I want them to be a surprise," I explained, as I thought of the Pokemon Cards.

Jirachi, probably my favorite Pokemon, my favorite friend. Oh? A card can be a friend? Well you see, I'm the only one in the world who knows how to make Pokemon cards come to life, how to make them appear, how to make them become your friend, and yes, I did wish for something once Jirachi and I became BFFs, in middle school, but I don't exactly want to explain it.

"A surprise? I hate surprises! I just like to know then and there, not 30 minutes later!"

"Well the sooner we get there the sooner you can see them," I giggled, and sped away as fast as a Jolteon.

"Wait up Serena! I'm here too you know!" Dawn sighed, and started running as slow as a Slowpoke. I just laughed and laughed as she tried to catch up to my Jolteon-fast speeds. Truth is, she couldn't.

I then ended up in the room where a fourth of the school was, and if you didn't know this school, it's a tiny school. There were only like.. about 250 students? Yeah, small, and this is a public school.

"You came?" Ash asked, seeing me in the distance. "Why did a youngster like you come to the tournament? You haven't even came in any of the trading events or practice battles."

"Well you don't know what I've done or haven't done," I said. "You're just a well known person who has a lot or reputation."

"That's not the person that I used to know," Ash smirked. "You're starting to become more independent, more... fierce."

"I am, and you're becoming more greedy every second," I fired.

"Someone get the fire extinguisher please, because that burn hurts," Ash said sarcastically.

"Alright everybody!" Professor Kukui yelled. "I will write down everyone's name in this club, so we can get this semester's tournament all lined up. If I don't know who your name is, I will ask."

"My name's Serena Yvonne!" I blurted out. "Everybody here probably doesn't know that."

"Alright. Ash, Miette, Calem, Serena, Brandan, Tierno, Shauna, Trevor, N, Paul, Barry, Drew, May, Misty, Gladion, Moon, Sun, Lillie, Mallow, Lana, Bonnie, Clemont, am I missing anybody?"

"Me! You forgot the one and only Gary Oak!"

Everybody in the class then sighed, and then Professor Kukui wrote down Gary's name.

"Alright! The first two matches today will be Miette and Ash, and the second one will be Serena and Calem!"

Everybody groaned at that except me, and I didn't really know why. I then heard whispers.

"Ash and Calem are going to win again."

"We already know who's gonna win, do we have to watch?"

"This is going to be so boring."

"Ash is gonna beat Miette, Calem's gonna beat The Who-knows-who."

Looks like they're going to be surprised.

"The matches will be switched up tomorrow, but since this is the first day I had to put the matches in the order I wrote them. Now, who's ready for the tournament???"

Some people started clapping.

"I said, WHO'S READY FOR THE TOURNAMENT!!!" Professor Kukui yelled, and everyone started screaming just to scream,. They weren't even saying anything. If they were, maybe there were some "Woohoo!"s, but that's it.

I put my fingers in my ears because everybody was screaming for no reason, but then Dawn pushed me so I let out a little scream. I scream on my own, not in public.

"Alright! Ash and Miette, please go to the ends of the table, and select your first Pokémon. Remember, you don't have four moves, you have the moves on the card."

It's like he knew that Pokémon cards could become actual Pokémon.

"Go, Greninja!" Ash yelled.

"Go Slurpuff!"

"Go Slurpuff!"
