Danny's POV

It was now Wednesday. I spent all night setting up a security system and looking for replacement furniture while Ember slept on my bed. Some may think ghost don't need sleep, but they actually do.

I was currently on my computer in my room. The only things that was lighting up my dark room was the light from my computer, and a desk lamp. Ember was still sleeping. I heard a bit of movement from behind me, but I ignored it. Ember was one of those people who move a lot in their sleep.

"What's up, Betwixt?" I heard a female voice say. The voice was so sudden and surprising, I jumped off my office swivel chair (rolly chair?  Multi-tilter chair? whatever) in surprise. I shot a glare at Ember, who was now sitting up from the bed.

"Whoa, dude, you look like a zombie. But intensify that by fifty." Ember stated, studying my exhausted face. I just gave her a blank look. I really didn't have the strength to be annoyed at her at the current moment.

"I gotta get some breakfast. What cereal ya got, Babypop?" she asked, groggily getting up from the bed.

"Trix and Cocoa Puffs." I mutter as I lift myself from the floor.

Ember laughs, "Gotta say, you've got some childish tastes." She headed towards the door.

It took some seconds to remember that I added some security installments. I widened my eye at realization. EMBER! I ran towards the door, but Ember already stepped out before I could stop her.

The screen of the laptop started to flash red with big bold letters that said 'INTRUDER'. Ember was sensed by the hallway motion sensor, which released a net from the ceiling. I ran back to my computer.

"UHH! Deactivation Code: 570P!" I yell, since the laptop was voice command activated.  I wanted to stop it before tranquilizers were activated. It's only a tiny bit overboard.

I ran to the hallway to set Ember free. She seemed to have tangled herself in the net. She seemed completely focused on getting out.

Like most of my stuff, this net was not ordinary. It was ecto-infused so ghosts couldn't faze through it, and it was iron-infused so weapons won't easily cut through it. Not to mention there was heavy weights attached it so it wouldn't easily bee thrown off. Oh, and if you touched the weights, you'll get electrocuted. The only way to get it off was to activate the strong magnets, specifically made to only attract the weights, that held the  net originally.

I went to the painting in the hallway.  It was just a wolf head painting. I'm pretty sure I just got it from some random garage sale. But this painting plays an important part with the securityz1 I booped it's nose, which was actually a button that re-activated the magnets. I was really drowsy last night and I thought this was a perfect place to place it.

As the net lifted up, Ember lifted with it. Her arms were stuck between the rope. and so were her legs. DARN MY HIGH CEILINGS! (I used a ladder to attach it up there)

I heard her swear profanities at me as she tried to wiggle out. I paced back forth the hall, trying to think of some way to help her. Out of nowhere, she just dropped. And I have to say, it scared me like shit!

I watched as she slowly stood up in fear. When she lifted up her face, I could see her eyes glaring at me. She fully stood up. I could a menacing aura coming off her.

"Now Daniel, you need some explaining to do." Ember said, cracking her knuckles. She had this glint in her eye that said, 'you better answer right or I'll kill you fully.' She never, and never, calls me 'Daniel' unless she's mad.

"Um, i-it wa-was be-because of... sec-security r-reasons! yeah! I-I just wanted to-to protect us-us!" I stuttered, nervously laughing at the end.

"Your lucky that if I kill you, I wouldn't have anywhere to live." She said as she was heading towards the kitchen. I let out a breath of relief.

Suddenly, she stopped. She looked back at me. "Anymore security I need to know about?" She questioned menacingly. Is imply nodded, trying to hide the terror on my face.

I walked back to my computer, with Ember following behind. I close the door when we both got in.

"Deactivation Code: 31547." I told the computer, it lit up green.

"You know, you should change that." Ember suggested, no longer seeming as menacing as before. I looked at her confused.

"Change what?" I questioned. Facing towards her.

"That code. It's soooo long and boooring." You should change that." She answered. I didn't know what to change it too.

"Then what do you suggest?" I asked curiously.

"How about 'You sit on your head like a carving in space'!" She inquired. Ember truly confuses me from time to time.

"Isn't that longer?" I asked.

"BUT, it's more creative than you dumb bunch of numbers." She insisted. I went along with it. As most would say, 'Women are always right.'

"Fine, I said defeated, "Override Code: 6855-"

"Come on! Your override code's also boring!" She cut me off. I simply sigh.

"Then what do you suggest that I put?" I asked annoyed.

"I think... Rabbit!" She said with enthusiasm.  once again sigh at her remark. I sat down and started to change the override code. You can't just override an override code, it's not possible. I went ahead and changed the override code to RA881T.

"Override code: RA881T-" Ember once again cut me off.

"That's still a bunch of numbers!" She complained.

"But when written down, it kinda looks like 'rabbit'. I explained, slightly annoyed that she interrupted me once again. She simply rolled her eyes.

I looked back at the computer. "Override code: RA881T- Change Deactivation Code: 31547 to 'you sit on your head like a carving in space'. There, now can we eat breakfast?"

"Heck ya we can!" She yelled, running off to the kitchen.

And that's how I spent most of my morning.

Another chapter done! By the way, the new deactivation code has a hidden meaning~

(If you get the hidden meaning, send it via massaging)

Guys, I need a teensy bit of help. I want Danny to sing a song in the far future. But I'm caught between three songs! There's "If I told You Once" by The Circus Contraption Band, "Killer" by The Ready Set, or "Why Worry" by Set it Off. I'd love your input Nightlings! Just comment on which song seems more appealing to you!

<Phantom Fact>

Maddie Fenton is a ninth-degree blackbelt.

I want to expand my horizon since I'm running out of Bat Facts. So on occasion, I will put a Phantom Factl (Thank you @Skymaria098 for the suggestion!)
