I had a plan.

It was a terrible plan but a plan none the less.

I was going to dig up all the dirt I could on Cecelia and Trevor Bates, and hopefully find something good enough to use against them so they'd tell me everything they know about my parents murder.

Would this backfire on me? Probably.

Was I going to try anyway? Absolutely.

It was now the day after Christmas and I was on another bus, heading back to school. Matt texted me about an hour ago to tell me that he was back and waiting for me to arrive.

I looked down at my phone again to check the time, only a few more minutes until I arrived in my school's town.

To: Coach Matty

I'm almost at the terminal

I quickly sent the text and then clicked on a game on my phone to play while I waited for the bus to stop at its destination.

Moments later my phone buzzed with a text.

From: Coach Matty

Already here, just waiting for the pretty girl to show up ;)

I rolled my eyes at his shameless flirting and replied.

To: Coach Matty

Well I don't know who this pretty girl is because I look like an ogre!

As the text sent the bus came to a stop and the doors opened. I quickly grabbed my duffle bag and all but ran off the bus, it smelt like old lady perfume and pee in there.

"You're the prettiest ogre I've ever seen." Matt declared as he approached me.

I rolled my eyes again at his forwardness, what had gotten into him? He was never like this.

"Now hand over your bag, if you're a fairytale creature, I'm Prince Charming." He continued when I didn't say anything.

I scoffed playfully at his words but handed over my duffel bag anyway.

"Right this way my lady." Matt said in his best Prince Charming voice, gesturing for me to follow him.

"You're really taking this whole Prince Charming thing seriously huh?" I mused as we began towards his car.

"Well of course, it's just too fun to pass up on!" He exclaimed.

I wasn't in a particularly good mood before I arrived, seeing as I had a fight with Drew, a lonely Christmas, and a crappy bus ride, but I was already in a better mood and I'd only been in Matt's presence for a few minutes. He just had a superpower for making people feel better.

"Your chariot awaits you." Matt announced as he held the passenger side door open for me once we got to his car.

"Why thank you my Prince." I replied in a super girly voice, playing along as I slid into the seat as gracefully as I could.

Once we were both buckled up Matt started the car and we sat in silence for a while as he drove.

"I can't think of any more Prince type things to say." Matt spoke up about five minutes into the drive.

"That's disappointing." I teased him.

He threw one of his hands up in exasperation, "A guy can only be so charming Cora! Give me a break!"

I laughed and he quickly joined in.

We chatted about nothing in particular for the rest of the ride, and soon we were back at Jefferson Academy.
