After witnessing the doctor pull the plug on his comatose mother, Maximus Watson and his family move from Sacramento, California to Derry, Maine in only a matter of weeks after the death of Mrs. Watson. Only not being in town for an hour, Max managed to get himself on Henry Bowers bad side and get badly beaten up by him and his gang. A little 'welcome to town' gift from Henry and his goons. After befriending his next door neighbor, Stephanie Walters, she goes missing after Max's five month anniversary of moving into Derry. Ridden with grief and confusion, Max makes it his priority to find Stephanie and kill whoever took her from his grasp.
