Song: A new day has come by Celine Dion

Chapter 29

"Mary!" Fatima hugged Mary Barau from behind, while she was just joining us to walk to class for our first period, "I've missed you so much!"

"I was only gone for two days, smallie." Mary Barau chuckled and put her hands around her shoulder as they continue walking, "I heard about the new teacher they brought the day before yesterday."

"Teacher or devil." She scoffed, "I don't even know which one to call him. Miriam I hope you brought your oxygen machine?"

I pretended to cry, "Fatima I'm going to die today."

"What does she need oxygen machine for?" Mary Barau asked.

"Mr Edward will not allow us to breathe." Fatima exaggerated. "Or else he will call our parents."

"And we will be sleeping inside gutter tomorrow." I snorted and she joined me to laugh, with Mary Barau not getting the joke.

I can't believe we've survived with Mr Edward for two days. He was right, he was just pitying us on the first day. Yesterday, the class was empty because he refused to allow all those that came to class 30 seconds after the bell. And I was one of those students he locked outside.

He kept lamenting with that his nonsense 'EXCUSES STOPS HERE' poster, telling us how coming 30 seconds late to class was a 'preposterous' excuse. He really needs to pity us with these his big grammars.

"Please he should not try rubbish with me. I need enough air to breathe." Mary Barau fanned herself.

"Enough air to protect the gallon inside this bum bum." Fatima slapped her big buttocks.

"Enh?! Are you my boyfriend ni?!" Mary Barau started pulling her ear playfully and Fatima bent down and laughed.

She tried reaching for her ear again, causing them to slow down and stop walking as they went on with their baby play.

I turned around and walked backwards to look at them. Fatima kept shouting and Mary Barau was teasing her while she finally pulled her ear again.

I just chuckled and shook my head at my silly friends before turning around and suddenly, I bumped into the person that was behind me.

"Sorry." I apologised and looked up.

Oh God. It just had to be Hamid. The last person I needed to bump into on school ground.

He didn't say anything but just looked at me in amusement. I looked down, trying my best not to look at him and make it obvious that I know him.

"Sorry." I apologised again and took a step to the right but he moved the same direction at the same time. I shut my eyes in frustration.

I took a step to the left and he did it again. I moved right and it just had to happen again. I moved right again, trying to trick him but he still found his way in front of me at the same time.

I sighed and stared at the ground, refusing to look up at him. I could tell he was smiling and really enjoying the trouble he was looking for.
