Chapter Sixteen: Meeting the Pierre's

Ellie's POV

I watched how happy the twins are while holding kayden's hands during the time they shopped for toys.

I cant help but feel guilty because i really was selfish because i let my anger towards Kayden affect my children. I shouldve assured them that they have a dad. I shouldve told them, so the bullying at school should have never happened.

Flashback

before we went shopping i asked the twins why they choose to buy toys for the kids at an orphanage. I regretted asking them after hearing their answers

"Mum. We knew what it felt like not having a daddy. We were still lucky that we have you, but the kids there neither have a mum or a daddy...that's why kaleb and I decided to make them feel that they have a mum and dad even if it's just for a day" Kayla said while munching her blueberry cheesecake

"Mum. Daddy wanted to ask if you're okay" kayla caught my attention

"Oh....Uh, Yes munchkin. Im okay" i told her and blankly stared at Kayden

He was busy instructing Ginny on the phone then suddenly he looked at me. I was caught off guard and i immediately averted my eyes somewhere else

I saw in my peripheral he was finished talking on the phone and so my heart started to beat fast when he started walking in my direction.

"Are you alright?" He asked with his brows creased

"Yes." I answered and nod at him

"I think youre not fine" and after that he suddenly grabbed me and signalled his men and as if on cue they all surrounded the twins

"W-wait! Where are you taking me?!" I partlt shouted at him because of his actions

" we need to talk. It irritates me when i look at you and you're like that" he said with still that cold tone but a little warmer....or its just my imagination

"Oh. What now? Since when did you started to care for me?!" I refutted and huffed

He stopped from his tracks and looked at me with all seriousness and said to me.

"I never stopped"

Kayden's POV

She was so distracting. God! It's killing me! She wore that anxious and hurt face for almost like about 4 hours now! Ever since we got out of the house after she helped the twins change their clothes before we go out to shop.

What exactly happened.

We were at the mall and the twins are busy picking up things as gifts for the children at the orphanage.

It really warms my heart to see their smiles.

Then i looked at Ellie and she looked like she was in a daze or remembering something painful.

I was talking to Ginny to make sure that her elder sister Grisella would agree to do me a favor for the twins' wishes. She's the best event planner I know.

I steal glances from Ellie and she's still in that painful daze. I just couldnt take it anymore. I called Kayla since she's just busy munching her cheesecake and asked her to go and ask her mum if she's okay.

I followed Kayla and watched. I saw how Ellie's expression slightly changed, then she smiled at Kayla and Kayla came running back towards me

"Careful angel, so what did mummy told you?" I asked her while wiping crumbs of the cheesecake evident ro her lower lip and jaw. Such a messy eater.
