We had found our way to Kansas, we found a small abandoned cottage deep in a rural area. Christmas came and went. "Happy new year." I heard Bucky's voice, bringing me from my thoughts. His arms wrapped around me and kisses peppered my neck.

"Happy New Years my love," I whispered turning to him placing a kiss on his lips. Our relationship in the last few weeks flourished, felt as if we had known each other forever. Being on the run I guess would do that to you.

"It's been one hell of a year." I snorted, agreeing with the statement. I leaned my head on his. His thick hair tickled my cheeks. A smile crept onto my lips. "What?"

"I just love you." He smiled "You know I used to believe I was invaluable for love." I pulled back tucking a piece of my short hair from my face. "Than I met you, the broken assassin who needed someone to love him. Then all of the promises I made to myself shattered." I chuckled "thank you." I whispered

"I love you." I stood from our position making my way to the sheets we had on the floor. Laying down I felt Bucky join me. Sleep soon came, I allowed it to take me.

I awake to thrashing and yelling. I jumped looking for the source of the noise. Bucky laid next to me, yelling in Russian. "без свидетелей!"  I went to put my hands on his shoulder when his metal arm shot out grabbing my wrist "град гидра" his grip tightened causing me to wince, Bucky stood in his sleeping state pulling me up with him, his grip loosened. I sighed in relief.

"Bucky," before I finish a hand gripped my throat. I gaped in surprise his metal hand tightened, lifting his arm, my feet dangling. I cried out gripping his arm. "Buck-" I stuttered over my words "baby," tears welled up as spots covered my vision "It's okay, because your mine, I walk the line, Bucky." My words short as I struggled to intake breath. His grip dropped. My knees met the floor as I gasped trying to catch my breath.

"Lana?" He questioned his eyebrows furrowed "Did I do this.." I could tell he knew the answer. I met his eyes.

"It's okay, Bucky." I breathed heavily, my voice cracking. I held my arm out for him "It will all be okay." He took my hand, slowly kneeling to me. I rested my head on his chest as I hugged him.
