Chapter 5: A night to remember

(Yeri's pov)

The night was amazing. I've probably never seen the sky so bright, and my nightwatch was coming to an end. I looked up at my phone. The bright screen lit up making me narrow my eyes at the unexpected light. It was 4:15 already, 15 minutes to go.
I closed my eyes. The birds were already awake chirping to the sound of wind
10 minutes to go
Soft crunches on the leaves as if something was walking on them
5 minutes

(Y/n pov)

I jolted up from the bloodcurling scream
"What was that?" Jin jumped up from his sleeping position
And at that moment i could swear my heart stopped beating
In the entrance of the bus that someone left open stood a monster. If you could even call it that. The thing looked as if it was dead. His body had already started to decay. Half of it's lower jaw was broken as a low gargle sound was stuck in its throat. His arms and clothes were covered in blood and words can't describe the smell that this thing had. It didn't look human anymore.
Youngjae that was sleeping in the drivers seat didn't even notice how the thing pounced on him and bit his neck probably damaging his vocal cords as the boy opened his mouth but no sound came out. He started spitting blood but the monster pinned the poor boy down and started clawing out his intestines. A girl screamed falling down to her knees as another one came into the bus. We were surrounded

I looked around. There was no way we would just stand there and wait for them to get us one by one. They were blocking the exit so the only way out was the window.
"The windows" I nudged Jin
"What?" He looked at me like I'm crazy "what are you talking about?" The monster was busy eating the boy. Why was it eating him?
"The windows you idiot" Lisa hissed at him "we can get out through them" she backed away as one of the monsters growled lifting his head up
"Then we better hurry"  We started slowly going backwards to the back window that was the widest. Slowly step by step we were getting closer to escaping. They could be done with the poor boy any minute and turn on us and we didn't have a single weapon

Jin was the first to reach the window. I looked around. We had to do it quick
He slowly stepped onto one of the seats to get a better accessibility to the window.
"Jin you're first then y/n, Lisa and lastly me" Jackson nodded. Something in my head said that being the last one he wouldn't make it out if the corpses did shift their attention to us.
"Don't worry" he squeezed out a smile "Youngjae died for us I won't go down without a fight" he nodded "now go"
Jin kicked the window hard enough for it to start cracking. The siren of the bus went off.
"Hurry up" I looked at the front of the bus. Youngjae was completely out of their minds now. Both corpses raised their heads at the sound of shattering window. Growling and slowly dragging their bodies the freaks started slowly limping towards us. Jin already had jumped out the window and was holding his hands out for me to do the same.
I grabbed his hand and jumped down. A sharp pain pearced my shoulder. I must've cut it on the glass shards.
"Lisa hurry. The siren is attracting them. We need to move!" Jin rushed to the window
After a second Lisa jumped down too
"Where's Jackson?" I looked at her hoping deep down that he managed to push them off but just the look on her face was saying otherwise.
I rubbed my shoulder. "So that's all that was left. Just the three of us.
"We need to mo... LISA WATCH OUT" Jin jolted forward
One of the corpses managed to creep behind us and grab Lisas shoulder sinking it's teeth deep into her shoulder
She yelped in pain as she hit it in the jaw making it fall backwards
"Motherfucker" she hissed trough gritted teeth

Timeskip:

We lost them some time ago. Those things were slow. Of course everyone would be if their muscles started decaying.  Those things weren't human anymore and god knows if there was even a cure. From what I've gathered those things were slow but traveled mostly in packs so that made them deadly. They also had a passion for human flesh. How could this abomination get even worse?
