Hallucinate
With arms crossed over my chest, I silently watch Kiel through the window outside his hospital room.
It's been three days since the shooting happened. Tatlong araw na rin siya dito sa ospital. He's currently sleeping. Ang sabi ng nurse na nagbabantay sakanya dito ay kakatulog niya lang raw.
I pursed my lips as I watch him silently. He looks fine now, compared to what he looked like three days ago. Ethan was the one who operated on him and he did it successfully. He's done his job well.
Naalala ko pa noong dinala namin siya ni Jaxon sa operating room. Hindi parin tapos sila Margaux sa kanilang ginagawa nang makarating kami doon. She looks very surprised when we opened the door of the OR.
Akala niya siguro ay kung sino na. She sighed in relief.
Jaxon sighed in relief, too.
Bumaba ang tingin ni Margaux sa dala naming bagong pasyente ngayon. Her mouth immediately parted when she saw that it was her brother-in-law.
"Oh! God! What happened?" she asks.
Nagpabalikbalik naman ang tingin niya sa amin ni Jaxon, patiently waiting for someone to answer her question.
"He's been shot." I answered.
Napapikit siya nang dahil sa narinig. It looks like she's contemplating if she should rush to her brother-in-law or continue what she's doing to Rico. Nilingon niya si Ethan.
"Get him to the room beside this OR and do everything you can to save him." She instructed him. Tumango naman si Ethan bilang sagot.
Ethan grabbed some of the scrub nurses and also the other anaesthesiologist with him. Kinuha nila sa amin si Kiel at agad rin silang nagtungo sa katabing operating room.
Sinundan ko sila ng tingin. I think I should be there. I should be there to help Ethan on fixing Kiel. That's the least I can do for him after saving my life a while ago.
Lalabas na sana ako nang biglang nagsalita si Margaux. I turn to her.
"Are you okay?" she asks. I tried to nod my head kahit na ramdam na ramdam ko ang panghihina ko.
"Yeah," I whispered. She smiled a little at me behind her surgical mask.
Yeah. Me, too. I'm glad I'm still alive today. I almost died today twice. But if it wasn't for Rico and Kiel, baka hindi na ako humihinga ngayon o di kaya ako na ang inooperahan nila ngayon.
It's sad that they have to go through this just to save my life.
Nang wala nang sinabi si Margaux ay nagtungo na ako sa labas ng OR. Agad akong lumapit sa kung nasaan si Kiel ngayon.
