"Dude!" Nathan welcomed me as he saw me out of my car.

I heard a loud music. The party has begun. The engagement party na kanina ko pa gustong takasan. Gusto kong magdahilan na may sakit ako or whatever but the back of my mind kept on provoking me to still continue this shit.

"Why are you here?" I asked. Isinampay ko ang coat sa balikat ko at naglakad. Sinabayan ako ni Nathan.

"Stop calling me that!" inis kong sabi. There were few people already talking and drinking at the lawn. Binagalan ko ang paglalakad. I know they are all waiting for me. "And how did my grandfather sees her?" I inquired more and glance at those familiar faces.

"Ano naman ang sasabihin ng lolo mo? Syempre, nagmamalaki. He never look so much proud like this before." Humina ang boses niya. "I saw them exchange greetings. And he asked her to check on your fiancee."

Kumunot lalo ang noo ko. "What are you talking about?" naguguluhang tanong ko. "Whose her? I'm asking about my stupid Mayumi. Who's gonna check on her?"

His face suddenly get serious. "Did I hear that right?" he then chuckled. "My Mayumi! Whew! Coming from you, dude?" Malakas niyang tinapik ang balikat ko saka muling himithit ng sigarilyo niya. "This is getting interesting."

Umiba ako ng tingin nang ma-realize ko ang lumabas sa bibig ko. "I-I said stupid! Stupid Mayumi!"

Malakas siyang tumawa. Na naging dahilan para malaman ng mga tao na naririto na ako. Kitang-kita ko ang isa-isa nilang pagkilos palapit sa kinatatayuan namin ni Nathan.
