Alright so I'm a little stuck with the book I'm writing.

It can go one of three ways right now.

Two are sorta fillers but progress the plot, and one moves the plot forward nicely while keeping it accurate.

Think of it like this.

Choice A: Side quest with lots of potential character development (get to know others besides the main character)

Choice B: Side quest with lots of in-depth conversations between the main character and the "bad" guy. (allowing the "bad" guy to keep his promise)

Choice C: Main quest that allows the story to progress forward but doesn't allow for side quests. (basically a time skip with added drama)

Keep in mind choice C will /likely/ happen anyways regardless, but I don't know if I want to do it now, or later. I'm at a tipping point in my story, whatever I choose will change the story.

So.
I'm leaving it up to you, my readers.

Which option should I choose, and why?

Questions are also allowed down below, but I won't give out big spoilers.

(P.S this is for my book Forced to Forget)
