Soccer Star

You watch him as he sprints across the field following the player who currently is keeping the ball. Ashton keeps his eye on the player with the ball and you can see his competitive behaviour beginning to show. He's always been a determined person and you admire that about him, it's what makes him a brilliant player. Ashton runs his hands through his curly hair and you can see the sweat trickling off of him. Ashton runs to the player with the ball and goes for it, he moves his leg and tackles the player. Ashton races across down the field as if he was born for it; he sprints effortlessly, light on his feet. You cheer loudly for him as he makes it half way across the field with no obstacles. You can tell that he is about to pass to another player but that's when a member of the opposite team tries to take the ball from Ashton, knocking Ashton to the ground in an awkward position. You gasp as Ashton's knee makes direct contact with the ground. He clutches his knee and groans, he attempts to stand up but he can't stay up without collapsing once again, causing him more discomfort. A referee jogs towards him and blows a whistle. You don't move, you just watch for Ashton, praying that he finds the strength to stand up. A paramedic shows up beside Ashton and kneels beside him as he turns on the ground, still clutching his injured knee. You start to panic. It looks more serious than a knock to the knee. The paramedic touches Ashton's leg and he groans loudly in pain. You can see his jaw clenching and unclenching and his grip on his knee tightening. You start worrying more for Ashton so you climb over the fence of where you were previously standing to watch the match. You don't care if it's against the rules; you just need to make sure that he's not suffering. You see confused glances shared by the players and the crowd as you jog across the field. The referee stands in front of you, blocking your path,

"Ma'am, I'm going to have to ask you to return to your seat."

"Let me see my boyfriend," you demand, you're not wasting your time with this ignorant man when you could be comforting Ashton.

"That's strictly against the rules," The referee argues.

"Y/N!" You hear Ashton groan from where he is lying, he must see me next to the referee.

You don't give the referee any of your attention as you rush past him to see Ashton. The referee glares at you and you return the glare, you can't be bothered with his lack of consideration towards Ashton, he just wanted to see someone who could comfort him.

You kneel down next to Ashton who's still in a lot of pain, you run your hands through his slightly sweaty hair and grin at Ashton, assuring him that he'll be okay. A tear runs down his cheek and that's when you can tell he's in pain, you haven't ever seen him cry due to pain before and you don't want to see it again.

"Ssh," you whisper as you use your thumb to wipe away his tear, "You'll be okay. I think they're getting an ambulance."

Ashton nods to you and calms down slightly. You think his discomfort wasn't so much due to the pain but due to his confusion as he didn't know what was going to happen.

"Will you stay with me?" Ashton muttered,

"Of course, I'm not going to leave you. Although I'm going to be in deep shit with the referee the next time I see him." You reply

Ashton looks at you with a puzzled expression and you chuckle, "I'll tell you about it later."
