Chapter 10: Dawn & Dusk

Mei steadily sat down, firmly fixing herself up as she prepared herself for the worst yet to come. Slowly, she lowered her head down as she took a deep breath before she heavily exhaled. "My Grandfather." She spoke up looking directly at Yuzu as she clenched her heart feeling her weak heartbeat, unwilling to speak the hurtful truth. "Had planned an arranged marriage against my will." She sobbed, her violet yet sapphire eyes filled up with crystal tears as she silently shook her head and spoke about her devastating past that ruined her life so many years ago.

"Ever since father left me, the family responsibility had befallen me." She cried, unable to grasp her emotions as she continued to slowly explain the following events. "Without a choice I bore the responsibility as an Aihara, knowing I could do no other." She looked out averting Yuzus gaze as she clenched onto her, desperately yearning for her touch. "But then, I met you and from then on." She continued. "I did everything in my power to be with you. All for the sake of being loved by you." She exhaled. "Never once I knew someone I loved as much as you." She leaned in speaking from the heart as she placed Yuzu's hand on her beating heart. "Even going as far, as to disobey my own Grandfather. I rebelled against him, all but for your sake."

"No matter how hard I tried I could never bring myself to hurt you."  She sobbed, holding onto Yuzu firmly as she looked out the blue horizon. "You became my one and only reason to live." She embraced her unwilling to ever let go, clenching onto the blonde girl as she held her close, her breath against her as she spoke pressing herself onto her, resting her head on her soft shoulder as she looked out the frail window gazing out into the beaming stars, she wished for a better life, one where she wouldn't have to ever part ways with Yuzu.

The blonde girl froze as she slightly pulled away, confusing Mei as she looked back at her confused, in tears, unknowing whether she would ever accept the truth she had hidden from her all this time. Without further ado she pulled back, resting her hand on hers as she leaned back towards her with reassurance."Mei..why did you keep this from me?" She asked breaking down emotionally as she felt her agony and pain, feeling every inch of her hardship, her heart ached to sooth Mei as this devastating pain reminded her of her own.

"I..just didn't want to hurt you." She confessed, tears dropping down her smooth yet delicate face as she cried, bearing the burden of all those years, knowing that once she would have to let go, but her heart told her otherwise. "I just wanted you to love me." She told her, looking into her gleaming, yet hopeful eyes as she endured, only wanting to remain by her side forever. "It's alright I'm here for you." She whispered kissing her.

"Mei." She held her hand, brushing her soft yet delicate face. "This love will never betray you." She smiled, leaning in for a kiss as she reassured her. "I'll love you forever, no matter what obstacles we have to face." She kissed her. "Because I know, we will always be together." She smiled, letting Mei rest on her sturdy chest as she held her close, embracing one another as they tightly held onto each other, looking out the glittering horizon as they made out in the dim light. "Rest assured." She whispered, surprising the black haired girl as she wrapped her arms around her. "We'll get through this." She smiled. "Grandpops can go off and marry your fiancee instead." She giggled making Mei chuckle as she blushed relieved to see Yuzu back in good spirits.
