Spencer is 5 months pregnant

Spencer's POV

"Hey how was shopping?" Toby asked when I got home.

"Um, it- it was fine," I faked a smile.

Toby cocked his head to the side. "What's wrong?"

I sighed, not wanting to hide what just happened. I walked upstairs to our bedroom, knowing he would follow me. I sat down on the bed as he shut the door. "I went to go see my parents," I confessed.

I could see the flash of hatred in his eyes. He hesitated at the door before coming to sit by me. "How are they?"

"Really?" I couldn't help but smile. "Out of all the things you could say, you ask how they are?"

"Well, they are your parents," he shrugged. "I know you care about them and-"

"No," I shook my head aggressively. "I don't care about them. They neglected my happiness for nothing but pure selfishness."

"So why did you go see them?" He raised an eyebrow at me.

"I wanted them to know how great I was doing. I wanted to tell them how successful you are. Mostly, I wanted them to know how big of a mistake they made, and how I would never speak to them again."

"So..." he looked at me. "Tell me all about it," he smirked.

"So first I walked in making sure they saw the big diamond ring that I got back from you," I smiled at him. "With that hand, I rubbed my obvious baby bump."

"I bet they loved that," Toby chuckled.

"Just wait," I prepared him. "I didn't let them speak, I just went off. I yelled at them for keeping me away from you and not telling me about Hayden. After, I got out all of my anger, I told them that you are a doctor in the ICU. You should've seen their faces, it was hilarious!" I laughed thinking about their reaction. "You could just see the instant regret in their eyes."

"I wish I could've seen that," Toby laughed along.

"Then I went on about Hayden. Showing them a picture of her and shoving it in their face that she doesn't even know they exist. Then I talked about how we are so excited for this baby and we can't wait to have more kids. I also told them they will never be allowed around any of our children."

"Nice," Toby nodded.

"I ended it with," I cleared my throat prepared to imitate myself twenty minutes ago. "Thank you for your great example. Now I know the kind of parent I will NEVER be!" I smiled at Toby, "Then I stormed out of there slamming the door."

"That is so hot," Toby winked at me.

"And I may have keyed my dad's brand new car on the way out," I smiled.

He laughed out loud, throwing his head back. He pulled me into his chest kissing the top of my head. "Are you sure you're ok?"

"Yeah," I nodded. "They were never good parents."

"I know I have my opinion on them... But if you want Hayden and our kids to have a relationship with them in the future, I'm ok with that."

"I'm not going to allow them to poison their lives too," I shook my head. "Trust me. It's better this way."

"Ok," he rubbed my back.

"I did get this though," I reached behind me retrieving my shopping bag.

"Paint samples," he grabbed them from my hands.

"Yeah, I like this one." I pointed to the bright blue one.

"What about for a girl?" He looked through the swatches. "You only grabbed blue's and green's Spencer."

"I know," I nodded. "I was thinking we should paint it blue. If it ends up a girl then we can move her into Hayden's room and Hayden can move into the bigger room down the other hall. That way she can pick out what she wants to paint her room. Beside's she needs a big girl room."

"She is not a big girl," Toby stared off into space.

I chuckled to myself. "Toby." I snorted. "She's five years old. She's not a baby anymore."

"She will always be my baby," he playfully glared at me.

"I know," I ran my fingers through his hair. "Can you believe she's going to be a big sister?"

He shook his head slowly. "It's like yesterday she was born."

I sighed, "What I would give to have been in her life for those years in between that I missed." I laughed darkly to myself. "And to think it was all because of my stupid parents."

"All that matters is that you are here now," he reminded me.

"I sometimes feel guilty." I laid a hand on my stomach. "I will know everything about this baby. The first time they smile, the first time they walk, their first tooth. But I was never there for Hayden's first times."

"You were there for her first smile," he looked at me. "You and I were making silly faces at her and she smiled. She was three months and sixteen days."

I looked at him with amazement. "Sometimes I wonder how I got so lucky. You are truly a great dad. Who remembers the exact day their baby smiles?"

He smiled back. "You will be there for many more firsts. Like her first day of kindergarten this fall, or her first heart break, the day she gets married."

"I guess you're right," I leaned my head on his shoulder. "I wonder how you are going to be on her wedding day?"

"A sobbing mess," he answered without missing a beat. "But that won't be for another forty years so-"

"Forty!" My eyes widened. "Try twenty."

"Twenty!" he pulled away from me. "That would make her twenty-five!"

"And how old were we, when we got married?" I gave him the look.

"That doesn't count," he glared at me.

"Try telling her that when she plays that card," I rolled my eyes.

"Maybe I could figure out a way to freeze time," he thought.

"You'll be too busy hunting the boys she brings home. The one's with tattoo's, and ride motorcycles," I smiled.

"No! No tattoo's! And she can forget it, if he has a motorcycle that's an automatic no," he looked like he was panicking.

"When I started dating you, you had both those things," I reminded him.

"I was a good kid," he said defensively.

"Really?" I looked at him. "How long from the time we met did we wait to have sex?"

He thought about it for a minute, "No tattoo's. No motorcycles," he concluded. He looked at me. "Shit."

"What?"

"She looks just like you...The boys will be all over her." His face was turning red.

"Relax Toby," I nudged him. "We have many years before she starts showing an interest in boys."

"You know," he perked up. "There is an all girls private school ten miles from here."

"No," I flicked him in the chest. I pushed him down on to the bed. "We have twenty minutes before Emily drops Hayden off."

"And?" he raised a brow at me.

"I was hoping you would let me ride your motorcycle," I winked at him.

He smirked at me. "Anytime." He pulled me down to his lips for a heated kiss.
