This Secret Better Be Earth Shattering

Early the next morning I woke up in a cold sweat, a nightmare propelling me from sleep. As I sat gasping in bed, my clock read 3:23 am. I had only been asleep for 1 hour.

I had gotten home late from the bonfire, it was practically 2 in the morning when Paul reluctantly suggested that we should head back, partially due to the fact that I was falling asleep on his shoulder.

So when I got home it was only 20 minutes later before I passed out in my bed.

For the next few hours, I sat in the window, engrossed with my thoughts. And of course, they would all come full circle back to Paul.

I sighed frustrated, leaning against the wall. I didn't want to keep having a pity party for myself; just constantly thinking about  Paul and Chicago and Carter

It was about 10:30 when I grabbed my laptop, google searching stores in the area, both Forks and LaPush- maybe getting a job would help me even more.

I stumbled upon a poorly crafted website for a shop called 'Newton's Olympic Outfitters'. It looks like a Sporting goods store in Forks and luck would have it that they are hiring for a part time cashier.

I scribbled the address on a gum wrapper and went downstairs, quickly realizing that no one was up yet. Taking out another gum wrapping from my purse, I wrote a note for my parents and left it on the table.

I snatched my car keys from the hook and headed out, surprisingly only making one wrong turn to the store. I headed inside where a brunette girl with pale skin was sitting at the register, reading a book.

Her head was still tucked into the book even though the jingling bell on the door alerted my presence.

I cleared my throat as I made my way over to her, "Excuse me?"

She shot up, her eyes wide, "Oh sorry! How can I help you?"

"I wanted to ask if the cashiering position is still available?" I smiled lightly.

"Sure, Mrs. Newton is in the back, let me just get her." The girl stood yet tripped over the chair's legs as she tried to walk. Her cheeks were a bright red as she strolled past me.

I looked over the store layout, there were fake backdrops everywhere, practically for every season. By the plastic mountains were snowsuits and ski's and across the store there was jogging and active wear in front of the forest trees.

"Hi!" Someone chirped.

I whirled around to see a blonde woman approach me as the cashier girl snuck back to her chair.

"Hello," I smiled back and shook her outstretched hand.

"I'm Karen Newton, so Bella was saying you were asking about the cashiering position," Mrs. Newton prompted. "Sorry for saying so, but I don't recognize you-?"

"Right," I smiled, "My family and I just moved to LaPush, my name's Aurora Saunders."

"Well welcome to town, job's yours if you want it." She nodded, "It would be $9.00 an hour and about 20 hours a week, more or less depending on if you need to cover a shift and there's no uniform. Would you be able to start Monday after school? Five o'clock?"

"Yeah, of course," I nodded, "Thank you so much!"

I went to leave yet almost bumped into someone on the way out.

"Sorry!" I rushed, immediately stepping to the side. It was a boy who walked in, he had incredibly pale skin that was practically translucent and dark copper red hair. Yet the most striking thing was his honey colored eyes.
