Something Supernatural?

The weather was predicted to be heavy showers for the next two days and it was undeniably right as a thunderstorm erupted outside my windows.

Yet the thunder and pattering of the rain left me content in Paul's arms, as the two of us slept in my bed. The chill of La Push would have had an effect on me but the heat that radiated from Paul gave me the perfect balance of warmth against the cold. In utter words, peacefully waking up in Paul's arms was perhaps the most amazing way to start my day.

That was until Bella's frantic voice drifted from the front hall and through the house, to my room.

"I'm sorry for barging in, I just really need to speak with her-!"

The sound of footsteps on the stairs had me wide awake as I was now hitting at Paul to wake him up.

"Aurora-?" Paul mumbled half asleep, yet sensed my urgency, "What is it? What's wrong?"

"Hide!" I rushed and pointed at the closet, "Go, go!"

Paul rushed from my bed, not entirely understanding what was happening yet knew better to not question me.

As Paul had just made it to the closet and I stood from my bed, Bella knocked on my door.

"Come in," I called, already feeling sick to my stomach knowing what was about to happen.

Bella walked in, soaking wet from the rain and indescribable pain in her eyes.

I truly did want to stand there and feign innocence-to pretend I didn't know anything about the pack nor why Jacob had been ignoring her, but as I watched one of my best friends stand there and almost crumpled to pieces, I knew I couldn't.

Bella was smarter than that, she could easily read my bluff and apparently I wasn't trying so hard at keeping a poker face.

"You knew," She spoke immediately after taking one look at me. My guilt apparently written across my face.

I started off slowly, "Bella-"

"Don't even try to lie," She rushed, "I saw Jacob go off with Sam and Quill. You know how many times he told me he was scared of your gang and tried to avoid them at all costs? But you had to have known Sam was going to go after him-"

I stood silent, feeling my two loyalties pull at each other while my guilt consumed me.

"-and after everything Jake defended Sam and you! He said you guys were trying to help him, so please Aurora, just tell me, what is the big secret?"

"I can't say-" My voice was barely above a whisper.

"What have you guys done to Jacob?" Her voice cracked and my eyes dropped to the ground. "How can you defend your boyfriend and Sam when half the town is scared of you guys?"

"Bella you don't understand!" I found my voice as I looked up at her.

She immediately shot back, "Then help me understand."

I went silent, feeling the pain of my loyalty going to the pack, but in this instance, they were right and needed my help. "Bella," I sighed, "I'm sorry. It's not my place to say."

"Oh but so you told Jake about the Cullens? You two are that close now?"

"What?" I confused, genuinely not expecting the conversation to turn this way, "What are you talking about?"

"Jacob told me he knows they're vampires, how could you tell him that. They had to keep that a secret. It was important for them-"

"I didn't tell him anything!" I shot back, instantly becoming defensive for something I know wasn't my fault, "They left Bella! The Cullens don't matter anymore."
